blowing the worst team in the conference doesn't make that win look any more impressive

I was basing my evaluation of our defense on what I saw with my eyes. It wasn't that they stopped Vandy's offense it was that they DOMINATED the line of scrimmage and dictated what Vady's offense was going to do.

I'm not saying that Vandy = Miss State. I think MSU will be a bigger test no doubt. I'm just explaining why I think y'all will have trouble with our D.

The real problem for LSU is what will the offense be able to do against a better SEC defense?

Outside of 2007 he kept Florida in check pretty well at Tennessee.

Auburn didn't stand a chance last season.

Mississippi State's spread? Frightening.

I thought you were being funny, but maybe you really do think I was talking about a form of offense. When I say "spread" I mean the point spread.

Vandy's offense is no where near State's in terms of talent and coaching. It's not even close.

It'll be dead even at the end of the season.

a mediocre Big 10 team

And NW isn't mediocre, they went to a bowl game last year and prolly will this year, too. And NW almost beat the same Auburn team that just left Starkville with a win.

Hey it's 1:30 and I'm pretty sick.

Mississippi State runs the spread right? That's what confused me.

And when you said LSU hasn't been good against the spread I was thinking of 2007 and 08 when spread offenses really tore us up.

UNC was still running 3rd/4th string back

The Heels played their second string backs, and went to the air because they couldn't run on LSU at all.

Neither will state.

The obvious rantards is seeing the facts you can't. How you doing in the pick'em? I'm betting not well.

I'm literally shitting in my pants that Les and the boys could handle such a juggernaut in Vanderbilt. They almost won against a team that almost won vs. AU a year ago. BADASS.

We don't have to play our best game to beat you, bottom line.

And how is that different from you, exactly?

with Les at the helm people don't really have to worry about LSU at their best but for one or two times a season.

i'm saying

LSU 24
State 17

he's saying
LSU 32
MSU 3

the line is at -8.5

yet i'm the homer. yeah, that makes sense.

Mullen is going to HAVE to run the ball to have any success against us. Maybe if y'all have some success with the run then play-action will soften up our secondary and y'all can get in a quick strike or two, but I just don't think the pass will be available from the get-go.

Read my sig. That's wishful thinking there. But if Miles were to go, Mullen might be one of the names thrown into the hat. You know he won't be in Starkville forever, right?

In any case, I'd take Miles over Mullen right now. More accurately, I'd take Miles & staff over Mullen & staff. Talent level is a no brainer.

I'm actually looking at this logically. MSU is no better than Vandy is right now. Not based on talent, but based on results against a far tougher schedule.

NW >>>>> Memphis and LSU >> Auburn. Vandy was competitive in both of it's losses.

The Vandy game was also the first game Baker was back in. I'm expecting LSU's defense to be even better this game, and to cause major mayhem to State's offense.

LSU's offense, will have field position and TOP throughout the game.

I don't like to rub salt into an open wound but this reminds me of something my Miss State friend says. He always says, "I sure hope LSU extends Les' contract". He has to be saying it just to get under my skin because if I was to point out to him the fact that Miss State is one of the SEC teams that has NEVER beaten Les and that it would seem that he is basically wishing LSU would keep the guy that Miss State can't seem to beat.

I never point it out cause he thinks he's got that little smack talk under his belt that he can pull out at any time.
