I have followed sports of all kinds and I am 59 now and I have never seen the term LAX. In addition, dont assume that just because you may care about Lacrosse that
everyone else should give a damn about it. Lacrosse is not even on the radar in Louisiana or most of the nation for that matter so dont be offended when someone says he doesnt give a shite about it.

I suggest you check out my post from another thread on the topic regarding the game & its growth:

Also, anyone that claims to have not heard or known that "lax" is synonymous with lacrosse is just wrong. You either weren't paying attention or simply didn't know what it meant when you ever heard or read it.
A simple Google search will show you how prevalent the word lax is used & promoted.

the growth rate is staggering though
puts the soccer growth of the late 80s early 90s to shame

Lacrosse is finally picking up some steam locally at the high school level. Good to see. While Baseball/Football is big locally in some areas of the US Lacrosse is just as big as football and bigger than baseball at the high school level and for some college schools.

OK great LSU's club Lacrosse team won a game.
As usual, the fans of this club sport want to act as if it is much more popular than it is. Dudes, get a grip. There is a damn good reason that many don't unserstand your slang terms about your sport. It's because it is not even a minor sport here in the Deep South. You boys are just like the soccer fans who were convinced soccer was the coming rage. It wasn't & isn't and neither is Lacrosse. So as I stated earlier don't be offended because fans on this board just don't care about "LAX" as you put it.

The team has won 5 in fact.
No one is trying to impress upon anyone that it's more popular than it is.
The sport exists, it's highly participated in, it's only getting bigger, & takes a great deal of athleticism to play (which is where a lot of the criticism on here come from-so many computer jocks who simply could not hack it, so they tear it down to mask the truth).
Why not applaud/support the programs representing our beloved school with their own time & money (the school does provide financial & facility support as well for each team) while balancing their studies, work, & social/college lives?
Within 5-10 years (maybe more) the sport will be Varsity level at most SEC schools.
Florida has paved the road for the SEC with their women's program.

But I've travelled around the globe a few times. Usually with a black rifle and 'US ARMY' on my chest.
The minute someone starts using military as a brag, they lose all the honor associated with it, IMO.
I mean shite, you had to do backflips in order to cram the little tidbit into this discussion.

That's hilarious considering soccer is by far the fastest growing sport in the US. Concussions and the reality of being physically spent by 25-30 yrs old, has caused parents to erase football as an option for their children.

Might want to check your facts again. I love soccer as well, but its not growing as much as it has in the past. Its bigger than Lacrosse, but not growing faster.
