I agree. I think Tubby himself got his team into a bad spot this year and realized he had almost as many enemies within as he had outside the program. His self inflicted wounds became terminal because no one wanted to help him from the inside. When he realized how joyless the program was with him personally I think it took the heart out of him and after some introspection he realized all he wanted was "out."
I pretty much agree. I think the way it came down was that the AD/Lowder made some demands Tubby didnt like( insert reasoning above). Tubby said no stick it. AD/Lowder said adios MF. Tubby collects buy out and enjoys a few years off playing golf and laughing every pay day.
Lowder has had in for Tubs a long time. Just waiting for the moment. The perfect season just delayed the inevitable!

Unless the new coach has a good 1st season, then its a genius move.

here's a better LINK first of all.
Secondly, I guess we should definitely assume his mom is the absolute end all of this arguments. I mean if you or I was in an high stress, high pressure job, I am sure that if things went somewhat sour and we decided to leave that our mothers would not have rather biased opinions about the situations.
Point is that the AD and President flat out lied if this is true. Did you even watch the press conference? I thought they were going to break down at one point.
P.S. You would make a shitty lawyer.

Did you watch their presser? Guys should be given award if they are in fact lying.
Course, we can never really believe this press conferences anyways. Your boy Saban sure taught us all that, what 3 times now?

He did not get fired nor did he get run out of town. He wanted to take time away from CFB. Find me a link that disputes this.
Epic Fail
LINK (Tub's letter of "resignation")
LINK (Link to Tub's contract)
Section 21(As referenced in his "resignation" letter): TERMINATION OF CONTRACT OF EMPLOYMENT BY AUBURN

If you read through the whole contract, this is the only section of his contract which mentions any sort of buy-out or compensation for leaving before the contract is over.
Have you ever stopped to think that even though he and the AD did always see eye to eye that they might be rewarding a coach that kept them on high level of play every single year minus this season? Did Tennessee fire Phil? Nope. Think he get a nice little buy-out? I guarentee you that he did. Even though they both had bad years, they are not going to kick such coaches to the curb.

Amateurs are obviously running the Auburn Athletic Department, and Saban is smiling large.
