Advocating the denial of press credentials to someone, for whatever reason, is not censorship. Nor would actually denying access be. He has a right to write whatever he wants, and if Gannett is foolish enough, or unprofessional enough, to publish his stuff, they have a right to do that. Denying them the right to do that would be censorship. He does not have a right to know what LSU is not willing to let him know. The "press' right to know" or the "public's right to know" does not exist. Telling a reporter he can't come into my house, or my meeting, or my classroom, or my press conference, is NOT censorship.

Guilbeau is the Rant's favorite whipping boy. There is usually a vast difference between his actual writing and the ranter interpretation of said writing.

he said a bunch of things, the thing that was most egregious in my book was, i'm paraphrasing here, he has heard miles lost discipline. the players don't respect him and alleva has met with miles on this issue.
that was an opportunistic accusation. nothing supported such claims for the six years prior.

What in the hell does journalism have to do with Glenn Guilbeau? He isn't actually claiming to be a journalist, is he? I haven't read anything he's written in years because I realized a long time ago how full of shite he is, but if he's actually gone so far as to claim to be a journalist, then he's truly gone off the deep end.

your ignorance is showing. Censorship would be telling g.g./his paper what he can and can't write. He can write whatever he wants.
LSU doesn't have to acknowledge him or provide him with credentials. He doesn't have a right to know or a right to be provided information.
if he can't be professional in his business then lsu doesn't have to do business with an unprofessional paper/writer.

I don't care enough about Glen to read this thread, but I will say here what I always say about him. His most egregious sin is that he's just a terrible writer. I mean, he's fricking embarrassingly bad. Reading his prose makes me cringe. I really have no idea how he landed his position. I just dropped a deuce that read better than any one of Glen's columns.
