You are right. I'll just not say it to avoid the gastric taste in my mouth.
On the other hand. LSU and Oklahoma is a nice matchup in the Sugar bowl. I enjoyed the last time they played there.

It is petty, but yes. I believe in getting to a bowl by winning. Not by hoping another team helps you out.

If LSU wins more games than Auburn, then I'm good with LSU going to Sugar Bowl. Auburn under Tuberville with the cigars, stomping on the eye of the tiger, kicker fighting with our tuba player during halftime because he wanted to practice during our halftime show has stained me for life. I hate Auburn as much as Bama and always will.

If LSU ends up 8-3, Auburn is 8-4, and LSU is ranked higher than Auburn in the final CFP poll, how is that not getting to a bowl game by "winning"? LSU would have won 3 straight and 6/7, while Auburn would have lost 2 of their last 3?
If you trying to say that teams shouldn't go to a better bowl over teams they lost to, then every year that would lead to a circle of hell when trying to rank and order the teams for bowl selection.
