I find it hysterical that he has no idea that using that insult against Miles is just as insulting to Orgeron if not more. Guy is the gift that keeps on giving.

Doesn't discount the fact that Les would appear to have leprosy among the coaching ranks.

That's true as well. It really is an indictment of Alleva. Kept one coach around too long that no one will hire, then hired a coach that no one wanted to hire to replace the first one.

where are all these 65 year old coaches getting hired?
the average age of a p5 head coach is 44.
if Miles were 55 he'd have offers all over the place.
if you think otherwise you dont follow cfb closely and dont understandthe retread nature of cfb coaching.
think how many jobs charlie weis got after failing at multiple positions.
you dont understand cfb if you think a 55 year old HC with 1 NC, 2 NCG appearances, and one of the most accomplished coaches in sec history wouldn't be getting offers.
miles would be the oldest P5 coach hired in over a decade.
while his offensive stubborness is also a reason the biggest reason is his age.
Miles has been more successful than his predecessor at every stop.

“ you don’t follow cfb closely”
In 2011 the average age of a newly hired college football coach was 48. In 2016 the average age of a newly hired college football coach was 43.
I believe miles is 64. School administrators are going young. Is his O a problem? Yes, but not as big a problem as his age.
It’s amazing the lack of appreciation extended to the most successful football coach in LSU history.

exactly. think of all the crap head coaches that have had shite tenure getting multiple jobs after that crap tenure. miles has never had a tenure that was even close to bad.

This thread has been hijacked from talking point of Miles ‘acting ability

You have ABSOLUTELY no way of knowing this and even making this statement makes you sound like a complete idiot.
Jesus.
The age thing is such a fking copout. Despite the fact that Bill Snyder is toying with K-State right now....if he were to have quit his job...lets say.....8 years ago at the age of 70...you don't think some notable D-1 schools would not have come calling?

You are a seriously dumb bunny if you really think age is not a factor in a hiring process once a college coach reaches that 60 marker. A 55 and under guy is twenty times more likely to be hired than a 65 year old guy.
Do yourself a favor before you make yourself any more the fool and look up the ages of the last 50 coaches hired at power five schools and see how many were 63 and above.

I can think of one 66 year old guy who would be 100% more likely to be hired than anyone any age.

The point is not that they never get hired at that age. The point is they rarely get hired at that age.
Les doesn't need a job. He gets around $135,000 a month to sit by his pool, enjoy life, and study his lines.

True, but that's why age isn't the sole determining factor and shouldn't be used so broadly.
The majority of old coaches are simply passé in their visions or ability to keep up with an evolving game. But the same can and does apply to younger coaches too who may never develop the ability to keep evolving.
Plus there's the factor of ego vs offered salary for the older ones.

9-4 is now success for LSU? How low will our expectations drop for the mighty O.
Posted on 4/1/18 at 11:41 am to dukke v
I believe that's why he put the word sustained in the post which you quoted. One year is not sustained.
Posted on 4/1/18 at 12:03 pm to dukke v
Peej you absolutely unequivocally positively SUCK!!!!!!
Posted on 4/1/18 at 12:22 pm to TommyDaTiger
This was supposed to be about acting but a bunch of you sorry MFs want to talk about his coaching and O. I was ready for Miles to go as much as anyone but I like him as a person and hope he succeeds in whatever he chooses to do. If you wish him ill you're a POS.
