well, i can understand him being your favorite if you liked him when you were watching him as a raider coach

what about it all falling apart in tampa bay? and the lack of experience as a college coach?

Pro players DGAF. The business of putting a pro team together is far more work then one person could ever hope to do. I think his passion for the game and passion for calling offensive plays would make him a good fit for us (having to play Saban every year). He could hire a damn good defensive coordinator and let him run that side of the ball. Offense will be his. I think we NEED a coach to call the offensive plays if we are going to match up with a Saban. Someone who knows everything that is happening and what the other team is giving us. How to attack the scheme, and how to judge which one of your players are the right guy to break it open. I just think a CEO coach can only get us so far. I want someone in the moment, and I think Gruden would fit that to a T.

A really bad fit for a coaching job. You can't force the spread on Mich if their people don't want it.

well i understand the appeal of a coach on teh sidelines who looks in control and aggressive... like he's calling every shot (even tho Gruden really did kinda suck at the end with Tampa Bay)

but bottom line i'm not all that excited about any coach coming from the pros without a lot of college experience as well. the college head coaching job has it's own serious demands and bringing in someone who doesn't understand those demands is essentially on the job training when the job is already tough enough

Michigan won't fire RR this year. If they did, that would be premature, but I didn't like the hire to begin with and I am not a Michigan fan. They should have gone after Saban. Too bad RR didn't take the bama job. I would have love to see the gumps meltdown.

Michigan pays 3/4 of the buy out. LSU pays 1/4. In return, we get to schedule Michigan for the 2014 season (drama = exposure)

It is the QB. FSU and Miami Bad teams for 8 years, bad QBs. Mich and LSU Bad team bad QB (with Lee). USC Freshman QB not a good team. It is the QB always.

Rich Rod will be coaching the Wolverines in 2010. After that who knows, but he will be back at Michigan for the upcoming season.

Gruden would have won another if the "tuck rule" BS

You're assuming that Gruden would have won the AFC championship and then defeated the Rams in the SB. Not saying it was outside the realm of possibility but it's a stretch to conclude that Oakland wins the SB were it not for that one call.

The next head coach will be just as hated as the current as soon as he proves he is not perfect.
