I honestly don't think he does that on purpose, do y'all? I think its tied to his stuttering problem and he says it that way without thinking and he knows its wrong as soon as he says it, but just can't help it. I'm not saying he's dumb, but just a little speech challenged.

I personally am not a huge Miles fan. I think LSU will succeed with or without him, but you have to love his passion for the team.

That was awesome!

When Miles was hired by who ever hires the coaches at LSU,the question of his dream job must have come up in the interviewing process.Thats the reason for the buy out clause in his contract. So this can`t be a surprise, that if offered,he may take the job.I hope he stays but,it don`t look good. One other thing,if we would hire shitty coaches no one would ever come looking.

Even though at times I have thought less of coach Miles, for the players he plays or the mistakes the team has made. The man is emotional on and off the field and I love that. He has grown balls since being at LSU, and is truly a mans man. Home is Home and I would not blame him for going home, but I hope he stays because you don't find'em like that everyday

Well Said! Stay Les, We need you here. I for one dont fall into that 'oh he lost the game, get a new coach' mentality...
These past 7 years have been the golden age of LSU football and I couldnt be happier about My Football Team. If the Tigers win the BCS title game the year, that would mean two things to me...
1. I was able to see My Tigers Win 2 NC in my lifetime.
2. A nice Purple and yellow tatoo somewhere is due becuz of it...not the gwady bama fan tat but a classy LSU tat...

Stick around Les, you are making LSU as much as LSU is making you...

He is here 100% until the UM calls. I only hope they will not call until after we win out.

I disagree that this will affect our play. Miles seems to be too focused to let something like that happen to "his team". The guy is in a difficult situation, but I don't think it will have any effect on the play of the Tigers.

He sounds to me like a man who's heart is being torn in two. He loves Michigan, sure, but it seems he has come to love OUR university as well.

I think he has a tougher decision to make than many of you are giving him credit for. I wish him the best in his decision, and hope it works out either way. Some prayers might be in order. I DO NOT envy the position he is in currently, I do envy the money he's making, though. .

I agree with this. I feel as though he really loves Michigan but LSU has carved out a spot nearly as big in his heart. And if the call comes down from Ann Arbor he will not have an easy decision. I thought I would be able to pick up signs that he is leaving but I don't know anymore. I hope he stays but certainly would understand him leaving.

Great Clip from Miles. Since youve been covering him and the program, tell me, is he the most approachable and likeable guy we've had as HC at LSU?

Sure do hope he stays...

Thanks for all you do Sports...

I'm sure everyone will call me naive, but I think Les is staying. I know that he didn't explicitly say that he doesn't want the Michigan job, but the general tone of his speech was that he's not interested in the job because his heart is at LSU. I don't think he's playing games with us or Michigan; I think he was speaking from his heart.

Stay or go, Les Miles is the classiest coach in college football, and I'm proud to call him a Tiger.

For football, definetly.

Mainieri's pretty much the same, both are just good guys, they don't really bullshite you, if they don't want you to know something they'll tell you they can't tell you.

I just like that he's the same guy with me, as he is with you or any other fan. He's not afraid to just be himself.

Example, before the Alabama game, I was on the field shooting video of him watching the team in warm-ups, his little student worker shadow came up to him and they both saw me shooting video of him, so miles starts to stare me down and smiles and tells his guy something, so I roll over to him and tell him not to smile, it's a big game, I was going for the serious coaching angle.

He says if you can't smile and have fun at this type of game, then there's something wrong with you. He's just having a good time no matter where he's at, he feels no pressure, he believes in his team, and they believe in him. He's not uptight about messing up, he's not afraid of failure, unlike most fans, he realizes that people learn from their mistakes, and that's what he's about teaching these young men and guiding them.

I like the guy, I hope he stays, but I would be shocked if he did.

I think you make a call to Jimmy Sexton and see if Nick is interested. Another non-fan favorite around here but Tuberville would be my second pick.

It would bring most fans to tears to see it happen, but I think both would be great coaches here.

This is a weird place, but it's more of a fit type thing then who's the best coach. No one, no one thought Les would work out. So it's obvious that there are plenty of coaches out there who could make it work. It will be interesting either way. Next year is going to be a tough year I think for the Tigers, no matter if Les stays or goes.

Buyout is stiff...is it negotiable?

Finney mentioned the Tuberville angle...think he mentioned Gruden as well and that he flirted with the job several yrs ago. Any truth to that? I don't see him winning another SB in TB but coming to BR seems odd.

I am doing this really late but there are some distinct things that he does in the video.
Pros-
1.He speaks of it as history his ties to Michigan that is.
2. The man truly loves it here, and in no other circumstance would he leave. I think the Key here, is he is actually going to have to make a decision. This is important because we need to put ourselves in his shoes. If we were in the same position except LSU came calling we would jump on it as soon as we heard it. But this school, that stadium changes people and he has a tough on to make.
3. He almost comes out and says I dont want another job, which is intersting in itself. He planned that speech very well...

Cons-
Sadly, all of his non verbal cues point towards leaving.
1. He speaks of the great timing, which is a direct slap in the face of Carr and Michigan, stating that why would u do this to me.
2. Our natural reaction to leaving something is a sad emotion. Sorry but if you arent going anywhere you arent going to get upset. Thats the kicker he knows the time has come and he hates it.
3. Lastly, Carr did this intentionally. When he states,"what is best for Michigan" is a direct cue to Les. Saying that if you want to be here then you better come now. An interesting tidbit, not alot of people know that Les and Bo S. had an arguement over the recruitment of Jai Eugene. He was committed to Michigan and when les took him Bo called Les and had words with him stating that, "A michigan man would never do that." Beleive it or not that may come into play. I feel bad for Les, Michigan is doing him wrong.

I agree with some of your points, the "timing" part is very telling.

Meaning if it were a different time, his decision might be easier or less of a distraction.

I think it's great that he's actually torn. When Nick's time came, I think the torn aspect was an afterthought, something he realized only to late. Les is a thoughtful person, I think he knows his family and best shot at "success" is at LSU, but that he alone "needs/wants" to be at Michigan for his own reasons. Talking to him, the reasons are not selfish at all, it's weird, he wants to "correct" or right the ship at Michigan as almost a feeling of obligation. That damn phrase "Michigan Man" thrills and haunts him I would guess.

I had heard a Jai Eugene tie in passing, but had no idea how he played into this, thanks for clearing that up.

Well, It came to me from a very realiable source. I think the most telling statement is when he does mention the Timing issue. He chuckles, I think he knew exactly what they were doing. The "I am not looking for a job" thing interests me. I like how he goes into all of those points almost stating that because of how you did this, I dont want it. But when he gets emotional in the end about this team, I rememeber a poem called the "Tell Tell Heart." I think that told it all, he loves this place and everything about it except maybe the crazy expectations. But you dont do that unless you know something is about to come and you are leaving someone or something you love. Kinda like when u first moved away from home. You didnt want to show it but you never wanted to leave.
