Plus, on the offensive side of things MSU has one of the faster receiving corps in the SEC

Shut down Bumphis and you shut down their receiving corps. I'm not worried.

Miss St. must bring their A+ plus game (with luck) no matter what to beat LSU. But LSU can bring their C game and still win.

That was Mullen's first BIG game at State. The crowd was jacked, and probably helped them stay in the game to an extent.

Different story this year. Dry field, our house. May be a good game, but LSU wins it by 10.

A problem?

I'm looking at last season's results, and next to MSU I see a "W".

That doesn't look like a problem to me.

If we play like we played last year, we will lose this game. Relf may be bad but he had a couple of dropped passes late vs Auburn and almost won them the game.

Granted, our defense could be better but Mullen has had his system in place for 2 yrs now. This is a huge trap game for LSU.

and a redshirt freshman (Russell) who proved against Auburn that he's not ready to handle a big-time SEC defense

If he thought the Auburn defense was big-time SEC style he may want to sit this one out.

I look for a defensive struggle against MSU. I'm prepared to sweat out another victory.

Until we have Quarterback every team will be a potential problem.

I think our d is heads and shoulders above auburns. I wouldn't be suprised to see a 13-0 shutout, LSU.

Anyone who watched MSU's WR's vs AU isn't worried one iota about MSU's "incompletion corps".

LSU wins big.

I seem to remember LSU taking the lead just before the half and keeping it through the second half.

Just because you win with defense and special teams doesn't mean the other team gave it to you. Newsflash, defense and special teams are a part of the football team.

Relax - it's State.

Mullen may have a system, but he doesn't have the players.

It's at home anyway.

As LSU fans it's our duty to overlook State.

BTW, this will be meeting #101 in the series making it the most played series for LSU, and 2nd to Mississippi's 104 games for State.
