Still TBD. If there's noticeable improvement down the stretch then they may be around in '09. I haven't been the biggest fan of the Pelini system which is what they're supposedly continuing. So I don't think we'll see big improvements.

I think it depends on how we finish. If we continue to stumble he will get someone new. This is not OSU. I think more people would have their fingers in it than what we think. To much money on the line. I think its a different game than it was when it was in the 90's.

If we lose to Bama and end up a 4 loss team then Miles will be forced to make changes.

He's loyal/moral/principled etc etc but even he understands that he can't promote mediocrity.

Too fast to bail out on these guys. Doesn't look good, but they deserve the benefit of the doubt.

Then that will show just how stupid he really his. That would only add to the dislike I already have for him.

39-8...as if anyone gives a shite whether you like Miles or not.

From your sig pic: #90 Ricky Jean-Francois, LSU class of 2005. Recruited & signed by Les Miles.

He will not fire or demote heckle & jeckle only after 1 year. I will be very surprised if he makes a move after the season.

That's because "Heckle & Jeckle" are great coaches & who have had LSU in the Top 10-15 in both Passing & Rushing Defense for the past 3 years, along with DLine Coach Earl Lane.

I hate to say it, but I agree. He was loyal to Bill Clay when he was at OSU, and the Cowboy fans wanted that man's head on a platter. Les wanted to bring him to LSU but somebody (Skip maybe) stepped in and said no. I like Miles, but his job is to put the program first and his loyalty/friendships second. If he will not do that, either out of stubborness or stupidity, then he is harming LSU and he would need be forced to make changes or let go. And no, I don't mean fire him after this year. However, LSU has come too far to allow him to jeapordize the future. Dinardo wouldn't see the light and paid the price. Hopefully, Miles won't bring the same fate upon himself.

Dumbest post seen here in well....hours. Miles left both his Offensive & Defensive Coardinators in Stillwater. He offered Bill Clay an Administration job - an "Office job". Clay misunderstood this.

As for Miles "Putting LSU first" as you put it, Please explain how winning the f*cking SEC Championship & National Championship, the first uncontested National Championship since 1958, goes against Miles resume??

quote:

LSU has come too far to allow him to jeapordize the future.

Is this a joke? Are you just mad because Miles is taking Texas recruits?

Let's Recap:

Year 1: Wins 11 games, Wins SEC West, #5 ranking
Year 2: Wins 11 games, BCS BOWL & #3 ranking
Year 3: Wins 12 Games, Wins SEC Title, Wins BCS National Championship, Ranked #1 in Coaches & AP polls

Year 4: 5-2..

they never should have been there in the first place

The DCD's have 5 more games to make their case. 2-3 losses in that period, and there will be a lot of scrutiny. I don't know what Miles will do, but you can book it that he won't give a whisper of what he will do until post season. KC.

I agree on this....except that I am not sure that they have to be losses...just badly played games in D

Re: Miles Resume...
Miles resume at LSU has been positive; however, the 2 DCs decision is definitely a "blemish" and if he is smart, he will add the idea to the "don't do that no more" list and make a change.
If continues to push loyalty, it may become his downfall.
The PAST is history, nice, but history.

Every year you are paid NEW MONEY and will be judged on the NEW RESULTS.

When playing a sport, there are at least 3 components at work: 1. The Player, 2. The Coach & 3. The Opponent. Nobody can or should be held 100% accountable.

Having one SOLID way of thinking does not work in the SEC.

Les Miles was hired to WIN games, that's all. We did not hire him for Defensive style points or "Sideline Performance Art" - dancing around & yapping at players on TV, like the midget at Bama.

LSU is 7 games into 2008. Miles has won 5 of them. We'll see if it's considered a blemish. Will Muschamp lost 5 games in his 1st season as a Defensive Coordinator at LSU. Including giving up the most yardage I can even remember in 2001, 632 yards against Florida.

Miles has to say that he likes the job the coordinators are doing during the season. He is not going to throw them under the bus. I think at the end of the year, he will look at the job they did and decide what needs to be done. Les knows what is at stake.

I am unsure of the hate over the coordinators. I suspect this is more related to the players rather than the coordinators.

But blaming the coordinators or the coach is easier and better for everyone than blaming the players.

The players know their assignments. The players know their gaps. The players are not doing their jobs. The coordinators can only educated the players. The players have to make the plays. They have not been doing so.

I suspect that the co dc system will be scrapped next year, but I don't think the system or coaches is to play.

That's the problem. Most of these people have their head in the clouds holding onto the dream that LSU players are going to just wake up today against Tulane and "get it" and start dominating the rest of the way. Kind of like how the baseball team did this year.

Ain't gonna happen. Can they win out? Sure. Will they? Probably not.

I have an close LSU buddy that communicates with Joe Alleva about once a week...Knew him well when he was as DUKE

When the time comes, I think I can find out something more on this DC thing (what might happen)..Right now, Miles isn't going to make a change... He needs to see it thru the season.

If we get embarrassed by Bama...Those guys are gone, I am fairly confident about that...

It may take 4 years for this defense to be implemented correctly.
