Less is an average coach and a top if not best recruiter in the country. Recruing is at least 80% of college footballand and will win most games. In the games when the talent's even or close to even Miles isn't going to out coach too many. We should be more talented than everybody on our schedule next year and with 8 games at Tiger Stadium (and at least one SEC Night game ) We should be in the Atl again.

Wait, you are saying Miles voted LSU second in the 2007 final poll? He did? and who was 3rd? And irony the team that 'just made it in' won again? Look at the stats....
And Saban had 2 undefeated seasons? When?
And we don't count 'rebuilding' years? What are you, a lawyer or a sportswriter?
Come on, man.

2008 Bama went 12-0 in the regular season and 2009 he went 14-0. He's like 48-6 over the past 4 years

Second....not a top 15 coach? Dude is like Henry Ford...he doesn't have to be the smartest coach in the country, he can hire him. Look who he has surrounded himself with. Yes, he may be the weakest link of them all, but he's also the glue.
Do we want to 'retrain' another LSU coach? Do we want to go through all the learning curve issues associated with it?
Not me.....I remember.
I know better.

Well...do we count the post season or not? Argument gets much weaker now that we are splitting hairs.
Occassional let downs?
Iowa?
UTah?
Once again....coaches need their asses handed to them occassionally to put things in perspective.
That's my point. Does a coach learn and move on, or stay blind.

LSU would have absolutely played on the 9th if they had lost to Bama.
No. We would NOT have made the game.
Do you honestly think the media would have pulled the term "quality loss" for a team like LSU?
You are kidding yourself.

Nah. I'm quite sure I'm not an idiot.

One more point to piss all of you off:
Miles wasn't the "genius" coach whose team rode the coattails of another to make the NC game.
Yeah, I said it.
If LSU doesn't have the season it has, Bama sits at home Jan. 9th.
That's right. Saban rode Miles' coattails to NOLA.
Saban didn't maul the genius Kelley in Dallas. Saban didn't maul the offensive guru Holgerson at WVU. Saban didn't maul Richt in his backyard for the SECC. Nope, Saban was begging on Sportcenter while Miles was taking care of business.
Deal with it.
Miles did.

The bottom line is the buck stops with Miles, he made a mistake and ultimately lost us the game. The sad part is he is too stubborn to admit it.

Miles ultimately quit in the biggest game of the year against Saban.
Saban made Miles quit.
Deal with it.

The Springfield towns folk in The Simpsons were modeled after LSU fans.

JL played like shite. It was by far his worst game of the year. And when Les gave JL another chance, he came back in and threw another costly interception.
JL played for 5 minutes of that game. After the intercept the very next play was a pass play. Maybe it was the formation that gave away the play was a pass? Alabama jumped on that second one like they knew it was coming and where.
If JJ messed up yall scream it was the play calling and just the opposite for JL. Time out dudes.
Miles rode JJ to defeat and we all have to live with it. I am slowly getting passed it.

eh. it was pretty even
les didn't "out coach" saban when reid saved the game or when bama's FG kickers missed FGs in the maroon zone
So I guess in 08 when Lee threw 3 picks and Bama escaped in OT that Saban was just lucky and the game was even? Funny how all I member after that game was people saying Saban was the better coach after that game and he somehow "outcoached" Miles.
What about in 09 when it took Peterson getting cramps for Julio to have his big TD run and The replay booth Bama grad screwing us over for Bama to come out with a win? All I member is Saban being a genious and "Miles will never beat Saban again" being the most popolar phrase. It's funny how that stuff is always so one sided.
Bama never actually gets beat, they always let themselves lose, yet Saban never actually gets outcoached, his players just don't execute his "plan" or "follow the process".
Sure we all admit Saban kicked Miles arse Jan. 9 and Miles made the biggest coaching blunder of his life being stupid and not taking JJ out or having a competitive game plane to attack with. Of course he now has plenty of work to do in 12 recover his image and get over the hump of "blowing the big game." But nobody can take away the fact that he is still 3-3 vs. Saban and has outcoached Saban 3 TIMES. You can't have it both ways. Either they both won 3 games and outcoached each other at time or they both got lucky at other times. Make up your mind.

Miles was not a genius Nov. 6. He just got lucky, again.
