Would be more if LSU didn’t suck.

Texas had a similar schedule last year. It was the second or third weakest in the SEC.
I would rather see divisions again. At least then the schedules are fairly even, unless one division is down.

I agree, ole miss lucked out that some of their tough opponents ended up not being that tough. And they will coast into the playoff. I don’t think they are better than previous years. They just have an easier schedule. They have played 6 of the bottom 8 teams in the conference, and their best OOC opponent was Tulane.

SEC big dog this year is Texas A&M in playoff position and their schedule was as soft as hell...embarrassing actually. They beat my Irish by 1 and dint play any other team of that caliber all year long but yet are ranked #3 in the nation....so much for SEC playing tough schedules.

This is such a lame gripe.
All of our great seasons have been accomplished with killer schedules.

No doubt we suck this year. But also, playing a favorable schedule helps. There’s no advantage to playing tougher teams than necessary. And perhaps OM is overrated. And perhaps LK is also.

This is a poorly coached football team that no schedule could have saved.
But what if OM is not really that good?

If we only played two ranked teams this year, we may be in the playoff hunt and the coach may not be fired.
We barely beat Arky and WKU...the schedules are never going to be equal for everyone.....face it....we're not very good no matter who we play....

^^^ THIS!
Along with LSU trotting out a legit SEC roster littered with NFL talent & depth that didn't have a astronomical drop off. Which echoes John Rambeaux in this thread.

We need to stop bitching about the schedule and just get our program to a place where we can complete with anyone and everyone.

It's amazing that the rant is debating whether strength of schedule matters...........it does.......just look at the last four games that we play next year. The SEC did us NO favors by scheduling Texas, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and Tennessee as our last four games in 2026.

Fact of the matter is that notre dame is nowhere near one of the better teams that A&M played.

We're not ranked, so I don't think we belong in a strength-of-schedule discussion about teams in the playoff discussion.

LSU is a godawful football team and program that seems rudderless, but OK.
