I know someone who does not believe in god. He works on a children's cancer ward.

I was making fun of him during his speech but it didn’t make me upset. If there’s a god he probably isn’t all that concerned who wins the college football playoffs.

Obviously?!? The only thing obvious is that no one “knows” squat about God by whatever name, other than what they’ve been told, read and choose to believe.

Dabo is annoying but I don't think that's what he meant by saying all the glory goes to God.

I dont have problems with Dabo and his comments on the surface.

God has created and sustains the world.

You succeed then God had a hand in it and you should be thankful. It was his setup afterall.

You fail and God had a hand in that also and you dont understand why but you keep plugging away trying to do the right thing.

You have to be consistent enough to thank and praise and glorify God whether you are blessed with great results or not. Daniel 3:18 Shadrack Meshack Anbedigo.

It's only offensive if you think God protects you and helps you in this world just because you are Christian. That is not the case. Then you are putting God to the test and its sinful and implausible. You can pray about it and He can answer your prayer but not always the way you are thinking.

Prosperity Gospel is heresy. Scripture teaches the opposite.

Being thankful and glorifying God is good.

Didn’t see where he meant to offend anyone. He gave glory to God as he knows how in that moment. I’m pretty sure God didnt win that game for them rather just gave them all the strength to compete.

Unless I’m mistaken he said “I wanna give God the glory” how is this wrong?? Dabo is a little on the whiny side but he is a stand up guy who overcame lots of odds to get where he’s at. We all act like we are all “without” fault and our fans and coaches are perfect..I love my tigers but we have some arrogant arse fans as well. I saw a middle aged man get punched after the game last night by three drunk arse LSU fans after he said something back after they dog cussed him for being a fan of his school.I’m just ranting because we as a fan base always act like other fan bases are delusional etc..news flash..so do we! Enjoy downvoting etc because I won’t be back in this thread..carry on

I agree that Dabo didn't mean to offend anyone, but as a Christian myself, I didn't love what he said. Does he think God favored him over Tua in last year's game (for example)? I don't think that's what Dabo was saying, but I understand it may have sounded like that to some people.

The other thread got whacked with the exact line, but he said something like "God was on our side tonight." This isn't the first time he's said something like this either. From what I've seen people have been upset that he's saying God intervened in a football game in the first place and then on top of that he's saying that God chose him/them over someone else, again.

Seriously People? The guy gave Glory to God

He sure did....

And then he added that Clemson won due to God's favor.....so, OSU is not made of men that are God's children?..not favored? God cares about Clemson more? Dabo is a fake Christian douche. He needs to get a little comeuppance and a lesson in humility. God does not favor any of his sons and daughters over another Dabo. Not even you or Clemson, my Brother.

I don't think there's 'room' for either of them to have the other's belief affecting each other.

Personally, I don't have a problem with what Dabo said. Just where/how he said it.

And if that father doesn't think God has enough favor to go around, not to mention a plan, then he needs to focus inward, not on Dabo or the Taters.

God's grace isn't a zero-sum game. Just because Dabo thinks he got some, doesn't mean he took it from the father.

In fact, both need to STFU.

I'm really surprised that so many people are missing the point of what the pastor was saying.
