Hey, I can admit when I'm wrong...or when I misunderstand someone.

Assistant for 13 years. And....I think she is the only one who knows if SHE is ready. Scared or not.....it is her decision. Can't fault her for that!

she thought more about the LSU program than herself.

Ummm...no she didn't.

Sounds like a family member/friend trying to put positive spin on the situation.

I should have said, "Let me come down and check it out." That should have been my first move instead of accepting it on the phone. I made a mistake.

neither one felt comfy here, made a hasty decision over the phone, it happens, not the 1st time either.

I'm ready to move on, but I have to say I don't totally buy this "I rushed in to the decision" BS. You're asking me to believe that Joe Alleva just cold-called the head coach at another SEC school in the same division on a whim and a hunch that he'd take it? Give me a break. There was some ground laid well before this past week when the call was made. If you ask, you're pretty sure the answer's yes, and I don't believe for one second that Murphy didn't encourage it - hence Alleva's statement about integrity. YG said she recommended him the day she turned in her resignation, well before the end of the season, so I'm sure there was conversation before that. If you believe otherwise, I have a great deal for you on some waterfront property in Arizona.

As for Habetz thinking about LSU and turning them down, notice Alleva said he offered her a chance to interview; he didn't say he offered her the job. Why not at least interview? I don't get it.

Now, time to move on.

She didn't??? Explain...

Just an outsider looking in. Just have a hard time faulting someone for turning down a possible offer that they didn't feel "ready" for.

Why waste his time with an interview if she knew she wasn't ready to be a "head" coach?

Completely agree with Habetz not being interviewed - even if she felt she was ready. LSU needs a bigger name than her.

Hiring an under the radar assistant coach worked out for the saints.. really wouldn't have been too disappointed w/ AH considering years she's put in, local ties, and whom she's worked and played under

A: apples/oranges.

B: Payton was certainly not 'under the radar'.

Yes, all great qualifications to become the next HC at ULL, or some other mid-level SEC program.

. LSU could have done better than Pat Murphy anyways....I think it's a win for LSU. What exactly has he done at Alabama?

6 World Series appearances in 13 years. We aren't likely to find anymore realistic candidates who've accomplished that.

So who is getting interviewed right now? Has anyone heard anything? My choice is for Windy Thees at Memphis, but rumor has it that someone else in SEC is about to snag her (she turned down the Kentucky job a few years back)

I wonder if they have thought about the Houston HC? She has turned that club around in a short time. She is really good. She was one of EG's player's in the early 90's for the Ragin Cajuns.

Go for a coach in the PAC-10. If LSU wants to win that's what they need to do.

After plowing thru these posts I like what Lee had to say the best....left coast for a change of scenery and talent. They have dominated for years now and would be a good opportunity for the SEC itching for a NC. To dominate in the south might be a better scenario and $allery then best west from the past.

Don't know who but that's ALevia's job, and for YG to recommend?

Don't worry lady tiger SoFtbaLLers, they will find a home run for you guys next year...Geaux girls!
