On the 4th and 1 yard to go call, why pass the ball when you havent passed all night. Or if you want to pass, why not crowd the line and make it look like a run and throw to the tight end like GA did on us last week.
Cause those situations would have been logical and rational, obviously something the LSU staff is incapable of doing.

Offensive line looked to be in more trouble than the quarterback, would you really want to offer up J. Lee as a Q.B. sacrafice? They will look totally different against the next opponent.

People need to remember that JL was NOT the worst QB in the history of college football last season. There have been worse! While he does just lock onto and stare down his recievers and is much more inaccurate than JJ, not very mobile or display much in the way of field generalship, he does have a quick release ( ball may not wind up anywhere near the intended target but it is quick with a nice spiral). It's true that he never showed much improvement over the course of the season and only got worse as the season wore on, it is a new season. He may have improved although the coaches don't seem to think so.

I am far from a JJ basher. He isn't playing like a senior and is playing a lot more like a soph.... I wonder why.
But that said he doesn't really seem to be improving to me. I mean his passing although it isn't super awesome is passable and has improved over the season although I attribute that more to just poor performance bad luck early one than actual improvement.
What bothers me is his lack of being able to find open receivers when they are open.
We have him as #1 qb the rest of this season. Why Lee and RS didn't play against ULL is beyond me. Had they played we would have a little better idea of what we could expect from them now.
Question is Does CG or RS have an honest shot from the coaches to overtake JJ as the starting qb next year?

At least if Lee plays we know we won't have to see that miserable option anymore with Jefferson.

yea because they are trying to sandbag the rest of the SEC and are waiting for the right moment to spring him on the unsuspecting fan base.

You tell me what the difference is between throwing a 30 yard pass that gets picked off or failing to pick up 10 yards and then having a net punt of 30 yards.
If he had only thrown 30 yard passes that were intercepted, then that is one thing. But didn't he have 7 - SEVEN - picks returned for touchdowns last year? And he wasn't he a redshirt freshman? So he's basically got two years experience over JJ and still couldn't beat him out for the starting spot this year.
More points from the O would obviously be great, but would you take the points over the interceptions that cost us games last year (Georgia, Bama, etc). JJ is 7-1 as a starter, including a bowl win. His decision to hold the ball and taking the sacks instead of throwing it away definitely hurts, but it wasn't why we lost to Florida. And it IS his ONLY loss as a starter.

the one where Jefferson pitches 5 feet from the sideline on the short side of the field and loses 3-4 yards by pitching to late to save his own arse?

The fact that the interceptions were returned for touchdowns was not always a knock on Lee, granted there were a few occasions where there was nothing but turf between the defender and the endzone, but nobody on the offense stopped him from getting there.
Also, a redshirt freshman has ONE year more experience than a true freshman. Do your math so I don't have to do it for you.
I'll also add that while it was completely his fault we lost to Alabama, the defense played absolutely horrible against Georgia last year and is the reason we lost that game.
I would also love to hear your case about how Jefferson's play is not responsible for us losing to Florida.

A RS freshman has one more year of system experience, and no actual game experience advantage.

Not calling for Lee, but think about this. We averaged 30 points a game last year under Lee. with a d worth anything we would have only lost 2 or 3 games even with the pick 6's. With a much improved d this year...? I'm just sayin....
You might have a point. The coach is there for every practice, so I assume he does not think he has improved or he'd put him in...but even my sister would throw less picks given enough practice, so you never know.

I understand why people dont want to see Lee this year.
But how do people STILL think jj is the answer after the O's performance this year.
