Beckwith - as a sophmore he was awesome. Never was the same after the injuries. Flashes of his old self every now and then, but for the most part the 2nd half of this year was a total bust for him.
OL - thought they'd be great - fell apart after the Bama game.
Safeties (esp Jones and Taylor)- still can't rotate over in coverage. Ever notice that most passes there is rarely more than one Tiger defending?
Byrd - thought he'd be better, but with the QB play its hard to blame any offensive player.
OLBs - no clue about how to cover the TE.

Richard Murphy - thought he was incredible on the spring and that he could really make a difference with his speed. Never even given a chance this year and everyone hyper him up sooooo much to begin the year.

Well, all my admiration for Alem went down in one stupid play Friday
I figured he was on the road to do something really stupid. AFter the Ole Miss debacle, we sat in our seats in dispair taking it in. All of the players were on their way to the locker room and Alem, all alone, paced around the field near where Ole Miss was celebrating with their fans in the S end zone. He looked like has was trying to get someone to come over and start something. We kept watching because he looked kind of out of it, but then after a while he went back in the locker room by himself.
It was bizarre.

All im saying is that they guy is young, and there is no reason to believe he will not improve as he gets older and matures.
I really hope JL improves next year; however, I am very concerned that he not only failed to improve as the season wore on but actually regressed.
I was tremendously disappointed in this senior class as a whole.

I thought he was the next great LSU safety (and he still could be).
But so far he hasn't held a candle to Laron.
Maybe if he ever played safety we could compare. But they keep lining him up on the slot receiver to play man-to-man. Not a CB.

I could name a couple but have to say that when a team is struggling it's a bad scene to be a part of. I've been a part of teams (HS and below) with few wins and also undefeated teams and when you're losing it's a bitch...practice, etc. Just wears on you and even though "It's LSU" they're playing for, they're human and it still affects them negatively.

Richard Murphy. I was expecting him to be the X factor this year.

Beckwith- Soph season was unbelievable...this year he was horrid.
Byrd...horrible attitude took over his ability to play.
RJF-ran his mouth way too much.
Lee-after the AU game, I was so excited b/c I thought we had pretty much seen a young QB grow up right in front of our eyes. Going through the season, he didn't seem to be improving though. He would come out horrible, but then at the same time, make amazing plays. I still think Crowton had him handcuffed a little too much, and kept putting him in a position to fail by calling pass plays over the middle on third and long
I was really just disappointed in the lack of discipline of ALL the players!!!

Good one. I agree.
He's still got time though. I'm not giving up on him just yet.

3)DByrd: turned out to be a horrible leader. i was expecting a lot more from a senior.
Given the way D Byrd quit on a lot of passes, I hope he cost himself several million and is making the league minimum next year.

(1) Our whole DL (besides Alem) - I honestly thought they would be a wrecking crew
(2) Herman Johnson/Ciron Black/Brett Helms - Thought they would consistantly dominate whoever lined up across from them
(3) D-Byrd - Thought he was one of the most dissapointing in the fact that he showed absoultey no leadership, dropped passes and often bitched
(4) Darry Beckwith - Thought he was a lot faster and would be one of the best LB's in the SEC
(5) Charles Scott - Was wondering why he was starting over KW before the year started, but he has showed me why
(6) BL - Gave me hope many times throughout the year with how well he has played, but often dumbfounds myself after seeing balls occasionally pass right in front of him without making any attempt to catch the ball
(7) JL - Thought he would be able to progress throughout the season but we all see how that has turned out
(8) JJ - Really has showed me he is ready to lead the team
(9) Both Safeties - I had high hopes, but they both suck

It became quite clear around the middle of the season that Byrd didn't want to play for J-Lee, and wouldn't give his all until someone else was the QB.

Chad Jones: didnt realize he would get beat so badly in coverage time and time again
RJF: thought he was actually good, wrong
Scott: he has really disappointed me, he isnt the bruising back he is so often portrayed to be

I hope he gets drafted by Detroit in the 7th round with a compensatory pick.

1)Scott: about midseason, i thought Scott was a legit 1st rounder as a jr. now i think hes slow and no way he gets drafted before the 4th round as a jr. still one of my favorite tigers. lose 10lbs and get faster next yr.
2)JL: i thought Lee could be really good up until the Georgia game. now i think hes just an interception machine.
3)DByrd: turned out to be a horrible leader. i was expecting a lot more from a senior.
that just a few to start this off..
Agreed on all counts, except the Tulane game was the turning point for me with Lee.
