I could name a couple but have to say that when a team is struggling it's a bad scene to be a part of. I've been a part of teams (HS and below) with few wins and also undefeated teams and when you're losing it's a bitch...practice, etc. Just wears on you and even though "It's LSU" they're playing for, they're human and it still affects them negatively.

was wrong about the senior class LSU Tigers - no consistent, positive leadership showing in the whole bunch. That's really disappointing.
Both these quotes are more revealing of the basic problems with this years team than anything. Coupled with the inexperience and immaturity at key positions, it makes for a toxic combination that showed in the play on the field and the record.
Except for Pelini, this is the same coaching staff that won the NC last year, teaching the same techniques and skills. They didn't become total idiots on a level with Curley Hallman over the spring and summer. This is not to say that they could not have done a better job because I think even they will admit they could have done better. They may even have overcoached, asking certain players to do more than they were capable of.
However, at some point in time players HAVE to step forward and take command as leaders, on and off the field. How often did we hear players talk about the leadership of Rohan Davey or Matt Flynn, Glenn Dorsey or Craig Steltz and others?
These were players who got in the face of others, who refused to let the Tigers lose. Coaches can't do this stuff. A coach can motivate only so much and then it falls on the shoulders of the players to take it onto the field at practice and during games. For whatever reason, this vital aspect of the team was virtually absent this year.
Hopefully, in this next group of upperclassmen, some leaders will emerge over the spring and summer and coupled with a years experience, we will see a vast improvement next year.

All of them, I guess. I cannot think of one player that had an outstanding year. It was pitiful, pathetic, painful, disgraceful, disgusting, disturbing, devastating, inglorious, ignoble, ignominious, infamous........

)Scott: about midseason, i thought Scott was a legit 1st rounder as a jr. now i think hes slow and no way he gets drafted before the 4th round as a jr. still one of my favorite tigers. lose 10lbs and get faster next yr.
You can't blame Scott for teams stacking the box against him and saying if you are gonna beat us JL is gonna have to do it with his arm...

All im saying is that they guy is young, and there is no reason to believe he will not improve as he gets older and matures.
There are idiots on this baord and in this state that call themselves LSU fans that really beleive that our problems/losses on our football team this year is JL's fault. I wish it were that cut and dry. AS if said 30 times before, both of these young qbs have a LONG way to go. There is much potiential for both and they have plenty of time as well. This offseason is going to be intersting to see how they progress into next season.
Obviously you are delusional. If you think that JL wasn't responsible for some of our loses, you are watching games with bias. The guy scores points for the oppossing team, and that is the reason we lost some games. The coaches aren't out there telling him to throw ill advised passes. It's up to him to make the decisions. He doesn't seem to be able to do that.
He got MUCH worse as the season went on. That is the only information anyone has to go on when looking to next season. JJ got better. JL got worse. What indication does anyone have that it would be different next year? Obviously the guy has an SEC arm. That doesn't make him an SEC quarterback. He doesn't seem to be able to make decisions in games.
Thats my opinion on the whole QB issue. Unless you see something nobody else does, you couldn't be more wrong.

It always amazes me that so many people think our teams are far and away the most talented in the nation. The fact is we're about on a par with 15-25 other team around the nation: the talent difference is not real huge between these teams.

what you implied was that he was dissapointing. dont fuking crawfish.
You put JL beside DB and CS...which is stupid. Im tired of reading shite that JJ is the future at qb for LSU. JL was thrown into a situation he was not prepared for and then asked to throw the ball 20-30 times a game. He struggled. Period... i bet you if i'd said... yeah man that dude is an INT machine and he needs to get outa JJ and RS way, you would have been right on board.
Dont crawfish on what you started when all i did was simply called you out on.
you are either:
1. delusional
2. retarded
3. racist
4. relative of J. Lee
which is it?

#1.. im sane.
#2... no im a pretty bright guy, graduated college in 4 yrs.
#3 ... yeah thats it.
#4.. nope never met JL
I disagree with more than half the shite you post so either way

Beckwith - thought the guy flew to the ball.....turned out to be slow, non-aggressive and lacks the leadership skills and mindset it takes to be a great linebacker!!

= injured knee. Nowhere near the player he was before the injury.

am very concerned that he not only failed to improve as the season wore on but actually regressed.
The quality of competition did increase greatly too. This would cause his stats to begin a decline, especially as his confidence began to wane.

You know what, I don't blame one player. In the past I have, but what I realized (since I'm a grown man) is that it's truly not the kid's fault. If they suck, then they shouldn't be playin at this level. If they've blown coverages, missed tackles, that's coaching. Plain and simple. This team was outcoached almost the entire year, almost every game. The Alabama game was covered up by the heart of the players and them playing their arse off. As for Lee, I feel sorry for him. He was thrown into an impossible situation because of a-hole RP and asked to carry a team without a defense in the SEC. ARe you fricking kidding me? But that's what happened. Miles and our DC's fricked that kid in everyway imaginable. Unfortunately, he may never play here again. But I think that kid has balls and moxie and really was in a no win situation. After every pick 6, he responded positively. That's the type of shite you want to see. And, Crowton doesn't get a pass. He had all year to figure out how to handle the Freshman QBs and he couldn't. Some of his play calling was downright laughable. The coaches fricked this season up, period.

You know Doc, if JL becomes the next Flynn or JPWilson, you're going to have a lot of 'splaining to do....he looks dead in the water to me too, but the kid is young and has 3 years to improve. Alot can happen in that amount of time. You are painting yourself in a serious corner with your opinions of him.

bullshite!!! He almost f'n ran down knowshon when he had that 67 yd. TD run. So, don't give me this "he was still hurt" bullshite! Beckwith was just highly overrated...his best season was his soph year! Tell me one thing he did last year besides the interception in the SECCG! The other, better players around him made him look much better than he actually was in the past couple of years!

MiketheTiger69, great post. I agree with every word of it.

Jcutrera looked as good or better than DB.

Yeah, JL has a lot of improving to do. Heck, even Colt McCoy had his issues as a freshman. JL's issues weren't all his though. How many td passes were put in there perfectly and dropped? How many routes not run precisely? (except for maybe BL) Why did they ask that kid to pass 30 times a game with a running attack like LSU had, especially early in the season. I'm surprised that he did as well as he did for as long as he did, especially not being a mobile qb and all the crap he got for the pick six's. But he kept coming back and giving it his best shot. Most guys would have asked for the bench, but he hung in there, even when it was obvious his confidence was blown out of the water. Truthfully I would get mad at him during the games, but feel sorry for his plight now. I really thought he would be a very good qb for LSU, and still might be one day. I really hope he comes back and proves a lot of people wrong.
