No it's not church. It's called being civilized, being respectful of others wether they have kids with them or not, acting as if you have some class, and acting the way your mother taught you to.

ok apex. you have never said or done anything publicly that others may have found offensive? ever? you're boxing yourself in a corner mr courage for public disrespect.
those w/o sin cast the first stone. ha, guess you have that stone in your hand, huh.
Did I say I was with out sin?
I am merely reminding you of what is decent and respectable.
Where is our conscious and morals?
People know is right from wrong...cursing repeatedly in public is flat wrong.
This issue is similar to the smoking issue in public restaurants...
it's about respecting others

That being said, there sure is a whole bunch of self-righteousness coming out in this thread. And the ones that are the most self-righteous are the ones that are lying the most by the way
NO!!
This isn't about self righteous at all... I love how you guys spin this around...just like MSNBC does..LOL!
People who are defending this cursing in Tiger Stadium or any public place call it their 1st amendment right just don't like looking in the mirror. So their first response, is..we who are holding the mirror up are self righteous?
NO...not going to let that fly
If your grandmother corrects you about your foul mouth, is she self righteous or righteous?
This is a big difference.
I am very conscious of my own sins and weaknesses..

So OP, is the example that you want for your children is that when you have a problem you should just ignore it, do nothing and then go home and bitch about it on an Internet message board? The way I was raised when you have a problem you should address it. What did the gentleman say when you approached him about his language? What did the ushers and stadium employees do when you brought your issue to them? I mean you did try and remedy the situation somehow right? Oh well, I guess some people are just raised differently than others.
You missed the whole point of my original post. There was a day when I would have confronted the exceptional drunk that was using the F Bomb and hopefully calmed him down. Today there are so many people dropping the F Bomb after every play that it would be a full time job. How about a little self control? And for those that think the profanity is what makes Tiger Stadium special you are dead wrong. I was there for Notre Dame in 1972 and USC in 1979 and believe me the place rocked without all the profanity. Tiger Stadium developed it's reputation long before all the F Bombs started. We don't need it.

What is ok to bring into this conversation?
A person's emotions?
What your feel is right or wrong?

But, I don't go around cursing in public in front of women and children

If you use profanity in the presence of women and children or defend those who do, you are slime, very simple
I'm 24. I have sat in the student section each of the last few years for games. That said...women and children are no longer seen as the fragile angels as they are perceived...they curse equally as much these days as men do.
Do I curse in front of children? No, I don't. But, you can no longer say that women these days (especially those my age) don't curse equally as much. I try to avoid using said language as much I can but things slip, but you can't assume that they aren't equally as guilty these days.
With all of this said, I've sat in my father-in-law's seats in the south endzone. I don't hear anything vulgar there. I think it's more isolated than you think...

What you believe is none of my concern. Is ok if I share my values and beliefs that's relevant to the conversation?
What you do in public could be a concern of mine..
Freedom actually has boundaries.. Perhaps you need to learn to respect public boundaries.
Cursing in public is a pretty straight forward public boundary.
people get tossed out of games all the time for being abusive...Why? Because it's wrong!!

From the movie "Idiocracy"... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Narrator: Unaware of what year it was, Joe wandered the streets desperate for help. But the English language had deteriorated into a hybrid of hillbilly, valleygirl, inner-city slang and various grunts. Joe was able to understand them, but when he spoke in an ordinary voice he sounded pompous and faggy to them.
exactly....Tiger Stadium is pretty close to Idiocracy these days...really a shame what level our society has sunk to...pretty close to just a bunch of animals...

not gonna read the whole thread.... but if you don't like the cursing why don't you just get a suite. ur gonna hear cursing and profanity even if it's only 1 in 100 people that are doing it. there are 90,000+ packed into a pretty small area.
