shut up you.
i'm fine with louisiana pride. i'm not asking for them to play the latest and greatest critical hit of our time.
if they're going to be louisiana pride, they should do it the right way. the saints play mardi gras music. because they're genuine, they're from the city, and they know exactly who they are.
instead, we're borrowing from a shitty superficial culture that isn't even ours.

just curious karma, what music do you like that is played in the stadium?

Agree 1000% with this. Born on the Bayou would be a fantastic choice. Great song that is a rock classic and should appeal to both students and the older crowd. Even though Credence Clearwater Revival was a California band, they must have had some ties to Louisiana with their "Bayou Country" album.

By you switching your reasons for LSU not playing callin baton rouge so many times and going off on your little black people and texas rant I've come to the conclusion that you just have alot of built up tension and realized you were wrong right off the bat, the song is not changing and its still going to be played, sorry you don't like it but you might have more fun if you pulled your head out of your arse and tried

anything played by the Golden Band from Tigerland.
all other songs that don't make us seem like a bunch of hicks.

90 percent of the LSU fan base is hicks, and if you were so in touch with Louisiana pride you would realize that most of the state is, was, and always will be, indeed hicks

at least that'd be honest.
And I'm not saying to play boosie. But how about legitimate cajun music? how about using some of the music that originated here in the louisiana delta. how about songs like chinese bandits.
how about anything that falls into these categories.

we have one of the richest music histories in the United States. And they choose to play that bullshite.
this sentimental bullcrap country pop makes me nauseous.

It is so, and if you are and your family truly is from La then yes you have hicks in your family and your anscestors were most likely hicks, you don't seem too proud anymore

my family is french/belgian border immigrants to louisiana in the late 1700s.

It's a lot harder to clap and sing along with Born on the Bayou. I think people like that about Callin' Baton Rouge.
Born on the Bayou should be incorporated somehow. That youtube highlight video that uses it is my favorite.

I'm pretty sure they play a lot more rock and thuggish jungle music than they do "hick" songs you speak of, so why can't you let the hicks have their fun too?

how about they play LSU music? which has been my point all along.
instead of establishing really lame traditions based on shitty pop songs.
Posted on 3/30/10 at 4:25 pm to chowell21
just letting you know chowell, there's more people saying AYE in this thread than NAY.
12-10 so far.
so at very best you have half the people who hate the song and think it's lame.
