Thanks for the info-made it part of my healing process. Here is my letter. Phone call tomorrow, so I have a chance to talk to a live person.
Commissioner Slive,
For the SEC to put quality teams on the playing field and allow games to be decided by substandard officiating is a total embarrassment to the league. Move the league offices out of Alabama, or have some type of performance review that involves more than you looking into matters, because you either obviously (a) have not a clue; or (b) are on the take just like the referees seem to be. I have sent a letter to Coach Miles asking that he speak up about the many blatant missed calls that possibly cost us a shot at the SEC and BCS championships in yesterday's game, and have offered to help him pay any fine your spineless arse hands him. This ranks up there with a similar screwing in our 2006 game with Auburn, which also took what was probably the best team in the SEC out of the championship game. It is no coincidence that both those games took place on Alabama soil. If you continue to condone this poor excuse for officiating, I would suggest that you return to Conference USA, as you are clearly out of your league "running" the SEC.

here's what I just wrote --
quote:
So Commissioner Slive -- will I be fined for complaining about the refs? Seriously, at what point does the message get through that you have a significant problem with your officials? I am not going to suggest that LSU would have won the game. Quite frankly at that point, 'Bama's defense had taken over and would in all likelihood have preserved the victory. That however is not the point. What is the point is that no human being on the face of the planet with vision acuity sufficient only to get behind the wheel of a car can argue seeing an eighteen (18") gouge in the turf well inside the sideline.
Terrence Cody not penalized for taking off his helmet during the final play.
Personal foul against Arkansas.
Yesterday's failure to overturn the incomplete call on Peterson's interception.
The ridiculous unsportsmanlike calls in the LSU-Georgia game.
And the list just goes on and on. You want your officials to be heard not seen. And not analyzed. And not scrutinized for incompetence. The ultimate nightmare scenario is for officials to affect a game's outcome. Can you in all good conscience say that hasn't happened? How many excuses will you continue to make? How many crews will you suspend? Before long, there won't be any left.
Here's a novel idea. Rather than blindly stand behind a group that just week in and week out shows that it cannot handle the job, why not pledge publicly to become proactive in referee training? Why not admit that there's a problem? Admitting to the problem is the 1st step in the self-help process.

For those that have already sent an email to mslive@sec.org, please send again to the email above as I don't believe Slive has a direct "name" email like many of the other people that work for the SEC.

Thanks!
I sent an e-mail, probably won't matter, but oh well.
Either the SEC is
(a) Crooked or
(b) Incompetent
I'm hoping it's the latter, but unfortunately I suspect it's the former.

We ought to be writing the NCAA. SEC is the problem and they could care less about your letters, email and faxes.

Dear Mr. Slive,
I am writing to ask you to please explain the severity of the current SEC officiating situation? With questionable calls surrounding the conference, I would be interested in learning your steps to suspend the crew from the Alabama vs LSU game played this past weekend. In order to restore order to the conference this is a necessity. I know economic times are tough for all professions, but maybe it is time for you to stand in the unemployment line. This is just a long line of things that have not helped the conference as your tenure as the commish. This is another opportunity that could help with the biased SEC now. It is embarassing as a conference that is as dominant as ours, to be in the national spotlight for spotty officiating.
Discruntled SEC fan,

This is correct. I sent a fair email to the SEC offices after the 2006 LSU\Auburn robery. The SEC offices did not to respond. Funny thing is the 2006 referee that called the LSU\Auburn game is now officiating in a Mid America conference. This tells you that even though Slive and Rogers Redding defended the guy in public, they fired him in private. The SEC officals feel they can say anything publicly and hope to handle the problems priately very much like our current U. S. government.
