Yeah, no kidding. I would have liked to see him get more PT...but I was also worried every time he did touch the ball that he'd get body slammed again and cough up the ball. I'll be glad to see him next season with some extra weight.
Yeah, guys that size can't take the abuse of SEC defenses.
Signed,
Dexter McCluster

Crowton kept shep out bc he wasnt "ready" and Miles was the one who sent him in and wanted to play him.
If the most exciting athlete at LSU isn't "ready" by 11 games into a season after spending spring on campus then the whole staff needs to be axed. Inexcusable. "Take ball, run. Don't let the other fellas catch you."
This gets more idiotic every day.

I don't know...considering he switched positions in the middle of the season he probably wasn't ready to get as much PT as we would've liked. He still could've gotten a couple of touches a game though.
And on the McLuster comparison...there's a big difference in the body of a guy who's been in a college workout program for 4 years and an 18 year old true freshman...even at the same weight.

"IT'S DIVISION ONE FOOTBALL, IT'S NOT INTRAMURALS!"
Good grief people this is the SEC and RS is an elite athlete. I doubt very seriously that he or the coaching staff is worried about a "body slam". It's fricking football for Christ's sakes, you're supposed to get tackled.

crowton used sheppard in a way that suited his talents.
Rosie O'Donnell could've coached RS better than this staff did.

quote:Agree. It's a Rant myth that Shepard can't pass the ball or run an offense, cooked up by the GC and LM lovers to compensate for their shitty offensive performance.
Well since I watched Shep run the offense in the Spring Game, if someone could pull up his stats. I totally disagree with the notion that he couldn't run an offense. He did it quite well including passing the ball.

I hope to goodness this is incorrect information.

While this has been sort of beaten to death, this is yet another example of a disconnect between Miles and Crowton. How does Crowton still have a job?
I have said it before and I'll say it again. Miles has tied his wagon to Crowton's boat anchor. He's decided to sink to the bottom with this guy.
Shep wasn't the only one confused as hell throughout the year on offense. There was NO continuity. Its not the players. Its the system and the system ultimately falls under Miles' authority.

Really? You're supposed to get tackled? Thanks for making that clear...it all makes sense now.
Just so you know...not every "elite athlete" who plays division one football is physically ready for significant playing time as a true freshman. Is that difficult to understand? And yes, I have no doubt that any staff would be concerned about ball security. Thanks for the lesson though.

quote:But yet you made that a signature point of your post. In his case, it just isn't true, and both the stats and the evidence on the field don't support that he "wasn't ready". That was the original point of the thread, and Crowton's lame excuse.
