They had the ball deep in their own territory...

They HAD the ball closer to the 50 than to the endzone, and they HAD all the momentum coming off 2 LSU turnovers.

I just pray the rainbow coalition can pressure the SEC and MSU enough to keep Sly in StarkVegas baby! The SECW is already tough, dont need some young upstart winning at MSU.

Thanks for putting into words what most SEC fans think but don't say. Instead it's the "Croom is a good coach but you can't win in Starkville" meme.

As an SEC fan what I am always willing to say is that I don't want schools that are placed on probation because of recruiting violations.

If Croom needs to be fired he will be. The idea of the Rainbow Coalition or any other organization having more pull than the mighty dollar is merely the meme of the pathetic. State should be happy that someone with integrity was able to come in and give some semblance of respectability to that program. But I guess winning with smoke, mirrors, JUCO's, and a downturn in other SEC West powers is worth bashing a coach. That's your right. What you don't have the right to do is pretend that the only reason the reigning SEC Coach of the Year still has a job is because of the color of his skin and describe me as a minority because I think saying so makes you pathetic. Judge him on his record and the performance of his team. Admit that if Carroll was even somewhat decent 3-2 would be a possibility. If your conclusion is that he needs to go fine. Have enough integrity to make an argument and not hide behind the "Jesse always gets Jesse wants. . .a white man can't get a break" crap.

The SEC will get even tougher over in the East when Tennessee finally says goodbye to Phil. I think he has lost that team. Look for Art Briles (Baylor), Mushcamp (Texas), Cutcliff (Duke), Grobe (Wake Forest) to move into Knoxville.

I like Croom...I think the guy is a class act but he is working with all he can get...which is very little....now with Nutt pulling all the gulf players he will even have a tougher time....give the guy a break....he isnt gonna win the west anytime soon but he is certainly gonna make what he has give it their all....lay off...

Cutcliff has been the brains of that team when he's been there.Without him, they are brain dead.

I feel the same. Too many people give the guy a tough time. He's always a class act when it comes to our boys and LSU's talent level, and he's very enthusiastic when it comes to whatever little talent he has. It's not easy for anyone to coach against "LeS U".
