You don't have to start a game for it to count against your redshirt four game limit. As long as you participate in a game it counts. Otherwise you could not a start a player every game and none of the game would count towards a redshirt. If Nuss plays one snap against Arky it counts.

Yes, I know. It was that dumb frick keakar who said that.

Nuss could have won the Bama game.

At this point who gives a shite. Beating Ark is hollow after giving away the Bama game.

because legal BS says if he starts i counts but if he doesnt start, but comes in after max has the start, then it doesnt count against him as far as redshirt rules

wholly incorrect..."starting" doesn't mean anything...you can play in 4 games max and not have it burn the redshirt..

It still makes no sense he didn't play in the Bama game.

They had 1 more game to use and still qualify for a RS.

A Bama win would have meant more to him than any other game left on the schedule. He could have still discussed whether or not to burn the RS with his family after. They should have been on the same page heading into this game.

Obviously Nuss should have been prepared to be used at any point given he is/was #2 on the depth chart.

I am so thankful O is gone. I hate he refused to go to his backup in the Bama game. And now he is going to play him? What a slap in the face to players and LSU fans who desperately wanted to see LSU beat Bama.

He should

If Max is playing well, they aren't pulling him.

If they have to go to Nuss he's most likely tasked with playing from behind.

if they had discussed using a RS if possible it makes perfect sense. Nuss would get more playing time and development against ULM than in a series or 2 against bama.

so if he came in and won the game at the number 2 team in the country you think a RS would still be on the table? That would be insane

Ed has bungled the QB position so badly this year. Not surprising, unfortunately.

Yes. One will throw the ball better than the other one.

A 7-5 LSU team with wins over Arkansas and AtM to end the year would be a very attractive team to a decent bowl. Unfortunately, the Auburn game is still hanging over their heads, as is the bama game. Imagine winning those two and sitting 9-3 with those wins...NY 6 bowl for sure. It was very much within reach, even with the dumpster fire raging around the team.

Why such ugly language....be sensible and professional with your view....the tigers have a lot to play for and here's hoping this group continues to compete at the highest level against so many odds....I will put my money on the tigers show up and play hard!!! We have a chance and tigers against the wall always come out and play!!

I hope so...that way I can read all the threads on the Score Board about how they need to put Max in the game!

So you think he was good enough to have success against Bama and get the W, but there is no need to play him in any of the remaining three games? LSU is still trying to have a winning season, go to a bowl and get all of those important extra bowl practices. LSU needs all the help they can get and if he can help the team get a W, then they need him. That is why he is on the team now. And trust me, the remaining games matter to the players/seniors who are out on the field still playing.

He is likely saying he will transfer or something if LSU's passing offense continues to struggle and he doesn't play at all for the remainder of the season. If the guy is saying he doesn't care about burning a redshirt, that he wants to play now, and he can possibly help you, then I think you play him now.
