not to hijack or anything, but does anyone on here know anything about west columbia, like is it a decent area to spend the night in at a hotel?
if its not a good area, can anyone recommend a better area?

West Columbia is a crapshoot depending on what area you are looking at to stay and what hotel. If you could give me a little better idea of where you are looking, I can tell you what's around it.

Football weather. High in the 60's and lows in the upper 40s. Nice

Very nice! Might need a little bourbon to fight that nip in the air.

Just found out today I got tickets and will be going with my brother. We are driving in Friday to set up early Sat. morning. Seems like Blowfish Stadium is the place to tailgate. Hopefully we can all get together as we did in Auburn.

I'll be there- not sure where - Blowfish looks do-able - I talked to a lady in parking out there, she said its a far walk, but it doesn't look that bad to me. I usually walk from the law center to Tiger Stadium and it doesn't look much father than that.

looking at the travelodge on bush river road in west columbia. it doesnt have to be in that area specifically, just looking for a good area to stay in with a decent hotel

I went to UGA/USC game. Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Airport. Very good Holiday Inn. Clean, well lit, good breakfast buffet. Nice pool area too. It is only a few miles and a straight shot to/from downtown and the bar areas. Good brewery, a Mellow Mushrom pizza place etc.
Parking around the stadium is weird. The area around the stadium is mostly industrial in nature. Not very "campus-like".
I came in from the south side of the stadium per locals recomendation and it was much easier ingress/egress. I would just drive as close as you can until you see the stadium and park. I paid $30 for nice spot and porta-john equipped lot.
See ya guys in two weeks.
GEAUX DAWGS!!
