I would just leave off Richt, Fisher, Tubbs, Stoops, and Tressel. They are/were at big programs and are/were no better than Miles.

addressA lot of people are happy with LSU going to a bowl named after a restaurant while Alabama and Florida go play with the big boys.

bull shite. no one is happy about this. just because they aren't whining and considering slitting their wrists doesn't mean they are happy.

I for one think we have the talent to do better.

yet you seem to completely ignore the circumstances of our season. talented team, yes; experienced team, no. you seem to think a brand new qb and losing 3 OL, 2 LB and 2 DB's is nothing. and i'm talking damn good players not bench warmers.

So this season was a disappointment.

you are correct and it probably was even more disappointing for the players and coaches. that's probably why they never played spirited ball after the bama game, esp against ole miss and arky.

some might not want to come here, but if lsu were looking for a coach today, i wouldn't mind one of the names i mentioned. that's all

neither would I, but i dont think LSU should be looking for a new coach unless Miles leaves on his own will. Of course if we see a downward trend over the next 2 years then we can revisit whether he should be allowed to stay, but i dont see that happening.

Patterson would be most intriguing.

And i actually give the coaches credit for not losing after that. You could tell the team just wasnt the same after the loss, yet they still finished. Something that didnt happen in 08, 09, and 10. well regular season not the bowl games in 08 and 10.

His team just went 7-5. Why does he get a pass?

If LSU fired the coach who won 80% of his games. You can scratch off anyone worth a shite.

oh i agree completely. you can also scratch off retaining anyone on the staff unless they got an upward move.

Miles staying won us 2 sec championships and a bcs title and an undefeated regular season. Im not complaining.

TCU didn't do great this year but he's run a consistently solid program for years now based on defense and pro style offense that we LSU fans like. No, TCU doesn't play in the SEC but that means it probably did not have SEC talent either and still won a Rose bowl recently.

Yeah, because they've consistently had better coaching.

wrong again. up to saban, they had one fricking coach better than us. "consistently having better coaching" shows your lack of research and your age.

Big - I look at a coach in his respective conference. Does he have at a minimum a conference championship? Is he in the top 3 in recruiting in his conference? What is his bowl record? If he is lacking in any of these, he will not stand up to the coaches and schools of the SEC.
