:sighs:

if you insist on pushing your agenda, you can go figure out what they think about our offense yourself, as long as we're clear that NC is still not a bad team.

You can enjoy this product and defend it because you are weak like our coaches and have little brain cells. Our offense was putrid. The coaches could have called #10 a bit more but the same old shite from last year...Take the hot player out of the game. Go frick yourself

Our offense was far from putrid. Care to look at the drive summaries from the game?

4 plays, 8 yards - Missed FG
8 plays, 30 yards - Touchdown
3 plays, 2 yards - Punt
6 plays, 19 yards - Punt
1 play, 50 yards - Touchdown
3 plays, 17 yards - Fumble
1 play, 51 yards - Touchdown
4 plays, 18 yards - Interception
3 plays, 33 yards - Fumble
3 plays, 8 yards - Punt
3 plays, 1 yard - Punt
12 plays, 22 yards - Punt*
4 plays, 3 yards - Punt**
3 plays, 21 yards - Fumble

4/14 drives ended in scoring opportunities
4/14 drives ended in turnovers
6/14 drives ended with a punt

Keep in mind that 3 drives that ended either in a punt or turnover were within scoring range at some point. You want to add that all up, then we we in a position to put points on the board on half of our offensive possessions.

So pick something else to bitch about.

Compare Jefferson's sacks from 09 & last night
Compare the dline's sacks from 09 & last night
Compare the # of scoring plays of 50+ yards from 09 & last night
Compare rushing yards from 09 & last night
Compare our opponent's rushing yards from 09 & last night
Compare Jefferson's completion pct and QB rating from 09 & last night
Compare the # of presnap penalties from 09 & last night
Compare punt return yards from 09 & last night
Compare kick return yards from 09 & last night

Yep, stats dont lie, after 60 minutes of watching the tigers I think its safe to say this team is exactly like last year's.

So, our longest multiple-play drive was 33 yards.

And the drive with the most plays (12) went for 22 yards?

Strange stats.

All I'm gonna say is we are gonna have the same type coaching we had last year, nothing has changed. if you were ok with it, then its all good.

We had a 12 play drive that went 53 yards but we had 31 penalty yards on the last two plays of the drive that took us out of field goal range. You know this if you were watching the game.

Our average starting field position was the 50 yard line and we had two one-play drives that went for 50+ yards. Why you choose to see this as a negative, I don't understand.

Nice work compiling that list. I noticed some of these things, and Herbstreit and Musberger actually addressed a couple of them.

While the # of plays and yardage were not too dissimilar from last year (for this one game), there were some definite areas of improvement which are cause for hope. If the offense could just click a little more and get some consistency to maintain drives (and hold on to the ball), we'll be fine.

I just don't know how many 50-plus yard, 1-play scoring drives we can depend on in SEC games.

With Toliver, Randle, and Shepard, more than I think you'd expect.

Maybe not too many, but it does show that some of our playmakers who had limited roles last year are evolving into true homerun threats. So, even if they don't actually break a long one off on every game, they are going to make defensive coordinators start to have to consider the possibility, which allows for other facets of the offense to open up.

How stupid. Can you guys be THAT stupid. When you have 5 turnovers, and a td return of a punt....you have less offensive plays...just the facts. When you have 250 return yards....it hurts your ability to pile up 500 yards of offense. Good god. You people act like you don't have and no reasoning skills. You hate miles, you hate crowton and you hate jefferson...and you fail to use your brain.

You are correct...Stats don't lie.

LSU Average starting field position on our 14 possessions: UNC's 48 yard line.

Rushing Stats (minus sacks): 184 yards on 36 carries (5.1 yards a carry)

Passing Stats: 151 yards 15/21 71% completion rate 10 yards a pass.

Turnovers: FIVE!!!!! With FOUR FUMBLES LOST

I honestly have no idea how good the offense will be from that game...why?

Because we were on a short field the whole game...which means there arent yards to be had really.

Because we turned the ball over FIVE STINKING TIMES...which means that the points that were there to be had on the short fields we were given vanished as well.

Defensive Stats:
At the start of the 4th Q we had given up 188 yards of offense and 10 points. We gave up that big play at the beginning of the 4th and they just couldn't get their heads back in it until that next to last drive with the Mathieu sack and strip.

Here's what i do think (opinions):

Russell Shepard was in the offense in the Percy Harvin role and had PErcy Harvin like production.

Reuban Randle was thrown the ball plenty and had a nice big play.

Our OLine in this game could run block just fine. 5.1 yards a carry is an average i will take.

Our pass blocking in this game was just fine. We only had one sack and that one was on JJ for holding the ball too long.

Ridley ran the ball just fine...but he killed the offense with his fumbles. Murphy had 2 fumbles and did nothing.

JJ is well...JJ. He is not going to light the world on fire. If you are waiting on that you are in for a long haul. He can however step up and make nice throws. He has good enough size and speed to make you account for him in the run game. In other words he can perform the MAtt Flynn/Matt Mauck-type QB draws and designed run plays to keep defenses honest. JJ needs to not make his seemingly prerequisite 3-4 big mistakes a game and we will be much better off.

Defensively i think we will be fine. We are attacking and i like it. We are playing man up in the secondary and i like it. I think the problems we had are correctable. We have a lot of inexperienced talent in the secondary...sometimes breakdowns happen. My feeling is when we get a little more experience under our belts and get a bit healthier (like getting Baker back in the LBs) we will be fine. I don't like having 2 cb's on islands...but i think they will be giving MC more help from here on out. MAybe i am just overly optimistic but i think we will be fine here.

Your posts are littered with idiotic grammatical errors and terribly misspelled words. You should probably work on that before continually questioning the intelligence of others. The following "sentence" is a good example:

In summation, you are one stupid bastard

Holding penalty and intentional grounding took away most of that drive.

This thread reminds me of the morons last year who said the saints D wasn't as good as it was cracked up to be because they were 10th in total yards.

Stats from saturday are pretty meaningless when you have 300 return yards and score 14 points and 100+ yards in :22

Thank you!
This is why I choose to have a positive outlook for the season. I don't know how things will play out, but I find it more enjoyable to believe that good things are possible rather than assume that the season is already lost.

And keep in mind that the UNC defense had all of their LBs and 2/4 Dlinemen (along with one 5-star soph) ... the front 7 was still very formidable, and LSU showed signs of success against that group.
