i was in the bottom of the student section during warm-ups. Les Miles brought Russel Shepard onto the field with him. Later during warm-ups, the devout painted students yelled to shepard "Come to school here!" Shepard made his way over to the students. Now i cannot confirm this but im pretty sure i read his lips saying "yeh im comin here..." while nodding his head up and down.

My first LSU game was when we played Oregon State in the rain in '04 and I was in the student section. It was fun, electric, clean enough, and loud the entire game of every game that season. This is my last year to sit in the student section and I have to say we're pretty pathetic now. There is A LOT of leaving once we're up by double digits. I don't blame people if we're up 40 or so, but last night was pretty sad.

I hate that there's no more ohhh weee ohhh because some yokel added the "you suck" followed by the "you suck, co*k!" It was totally classless and unecessary. And even more embarrassing was the fight which ensued the following weeks in the Reveille between the band and the students who thought saying something like that was part of the student section being intimidating. It's not intimidating it's pathetic. People watching our games on national television around the country have every stereotype about the South satisfied when we yell idiotic things like that and curse words. We look stupid.

We're all college students or were and are allowed to make mistakes and even fools of ourselves sometimes, but to those who think debacles like this make us scary, take your head out of your arse. Seriously. Come up with something clever or at least be positive for our team, not degrading to our university.

Like the first poster said, I hope to see us be electric for the UGA and Bama games because the team will need it. That said, I assure all of you that those teams will not find us screaming "frick this or that" intimidating in the least. They will laugh at us and that would be pretty insulting coming from either one of those fan bases.

i agree with everything you said. i was out of the student section for two years. I could not WAIT to get back... now i'm just so dissapointed. People are leaving well before half time... what makes it worse is that some people didn't get any tickets this year... people who i know stay the whole game. Maybe we should start calling people out on this bullsh*t... I left one game early, the cotton bowl in 2003 (02 season), and the guys behind us made us feel so bad I never did it again.

And - everytime I go to the bathroom there's always girls throwing up. Seriously - learn how to handle your booze.
