But a reporter watching the team stretch and do jumping-jacks for 10 to 15 minutes is going to unload all this informative and truthful information about the LSU football program on you.
But isnt that the reason he closed practice? too much leaky info?

Were you in a coma in November of 2015?
Were you? It is the same idiots who created that situation in 2015 that are now howling about practices being closed.
LSU did not do press releases saying CLM was being fired after the A&M game. LSU didn't do interviews saying it. LSU didn't release information about the situation to the public.
It is the stupid fricking media that caused CLM to get four more games in 2016.

Could be a combination of things. This is what I think and had posted in another thread but not going to take the bolded "maybe's" out.
Maybe because LSU's first opponent will be playing their second game. Maybe because LSU is installing a totally new offense. Maybe because LSU is installing new special teams concepts. Maybe because LSU's defense only has 4 returning starters and needs to get them and 7 new guys up to speed. Maybe because the NCAA has disallowed two-a-day practices. Maybe since LSU's practices are shorter and they only have a month to install a new offense, new special teams, and replace 7 defensive players he doesn't want to waste the valuable 30 to 45 minutes or more it takes to allow the media to enter and then having to chase them out. Maybe he doesn't want his players and coaches distracted by the media and wants everybody to focus on the job at hand - getting ready for the 2017 football season. Maybe?

And it also looks fishy when Etling says that CEH took two 60+ yarders to the house...then O comes out and says he ran 6 times for 19 yards.
You know those are from two different events in the LSU practice timeline. When you look at Etling's and Eaux's comments about the practice Etling said CEH had two runs and one pass reception that were all 60 yards or more. Coach Eaux said it was three runs.
Coach Eaux either needs to resign or kick Etling off the team. One of them is incorrect and trying to mislead the hard-working blue-collar LSU fans.

But then again, O always tells these posters the truth.
Want to share some of the lies he has told?
I can tell you of one instance where he told the truth - He said he was going to close practices to the media. And by-God he has kept his word on that one. Ha Ha Ha

National exposure on ESPN is good no matter what Stugotz said as long as he spelled LSU and O right! I suspect he did
As long as its not about NCAA investigations or the bad results of an investigation, pretty much any pub is good pub.
A former Tennessee coach used to commit secondary recruiting violations on purpose just to keep the Tennessee name in the media and in front of recruits. It actually worked pretty good.

They will need to be convinced that he has turned over a new leaf and learned from his many mistakes. So do I.
Do you actually believe this shite?
The media is pissed about Coach Eaux closing LSU's practices because of what he did 25 years ago at Miami when he was the D-Line coach?
WOW !!!

the only reason LSU and Ed O plays football is because the fans support it. IF they were pissed off enough about closed practices i promise you they would be opened back up.
Well, they are happy about it, so you don't have to worry about Coach Eaux not following through on his statement that he was going to close them.

This will all be a non story once the season starts. They're just pissed because they can't write pieces on how good or bad the team is now. It's coach O's job to prepare the team and give them the best chance to win. It's not his job to accommodate the media every step of the way.

Absolutely true. I just think it's funny when people act like the fans have no say so in the direction/entitlement of the program.

Does anyone remember that Sabah also did this before his first season at LSU started. Plenty of people were upset about it. Worked out. Just saying...not sure why this is a problem for anyone
Posted on 8/9/17 at 5:08 pm to WM_Tiger
There is no good reason to close practice like this given the walkover beginning games of our season, but who gives a shite other than those who try to cover LSU for its fans. I don't blame O and I don't the media.
Much to do about nothing.
Much to do about nothing.

Bashing Coach O for limited media access and saying he doesn't trust what LSU puts out to the public. Screw him and his gay Cuban sidekick.
He oughta be ashamed of himself. I mean who does he think he is? It's time to pump the brakes, ok

They are taking a wait and see attitude, but he will not get the benefit of the doubt because of his past. Not only from legal troubles in Miami, but for the Ole Miss abomination, plus Tennessee and USC recruiting issues that he was directly or indirectly responsible for.

This is basically a comedy routine. The entire concept is comedy, black comedy.

Stogotz is that dumb@$$ who involves politics in every damn thing he talks about. I swear the first time I heard him on my radio I had to make sure I wasn't listening to CNN or MSNBC. I'd rather listen to classical music recreated with the sounds of someone scratching a chalkboard than to hear him lecture me.

There is history with O and the Miami media. It isn't good and it was due to his behavior during his time here. They will need to be convinced that he has turned over a new leaf and learned from his many mistakes. So do I.
I get it now. You saw the "bashing Coach O" in the title of the thread without actually reading the OP.
I'm sure there are other threads on this board where your going back 25 years to bash will be more than welcome.
Posted on 8/9/17 at 7:07 pm to Tiger Ree
Good God. Just stating some reasons why others may be skeptical and will find reasons to bash. All based on history.
At the end of the day, I don't give a frog's fatass what others think anyway. Hope LSU goes undefeated. We have some of the best talent in the nation with two of the highest paid coordinators in football. O just needs to keep it between the ditches.
