While the paintball gun is a fun idea, remember some of these people you tag might choose to come back later (or the next game) with something more permanent than a paintball gun.

I'm not a lawyer, but you could be setting yourself up with an assault charge, as well.

Just sayin'

How about setting out an ice chest with water moccasins inside. That could prove entertaining.

actually... you can see em trolling around during the tailgates..... walking around milling about and checking out what is under every tent..

the only ways to stop it..

pick you stuff up or lock it or guard it...

or.. what nobody wants...

only let people on campus with tickets... or charge admission to campus for folks without tickets...

now there are a lot of homeless folks that roam through campus grabbing lots of the food left out during games..

btw. i did the snake in the ice chest thing...

We had many of the same problems at our tailgate last year and came up with some fixes for this season...

We have the most luck with proximity mines. Ever since we started using them, the thefts have completely stopped. I would recommend them to those of you that continue to have problems with intruders. Just make sure to warn everyone in your tailgate crew as to the location of the mines.

I had O'Douls stolen from my ice chest. The next week I left a "special" 6 pack of Shiner Bock and they took the bait, all 6.

My brother-in-law had a super nice cooler full of beer stolen at the Florida game. His tailgate is on the north side of the Parade Grounds.

Just leave bait like I did, Fill empty bottles with piss, recap, let stand in heat so the pressure will build, ice down when you go in the game, so they will be nice and cold for the theives.

as for the ice chest thing, I use an old ice chest with no handles. too much trouble for them to pack off.

We learned this the hard way one year. We had our tent set up on the parade grounds. Made the mistake of leaving it up during the game.

When we came back the tent had been destroyed. Not stolen. Someone just quite literally destroyed it - bent it all up and ripped it apart. They stole the beer, too, which they were welcome to have anyway, so that's no problem. But why would you destroy someone's tent for the F of it? dicks.

it was a ULL game.

It severely discouraged our tailgating. Now we set up our own tailgate only once a year. This year we had a tailgate sitter.

Back in the early 1940s my great uncle hit a bobcat with his car. Upon checking to see if his car was damaged, he noticed that the bobcat was still alive but was just knocked unconscious. My great uncle then took the bobcat and put it inside an old trunk and set it out on the road in what I would say was less than a good part of town if you catch my drift. My great uncle then went to a parking lot across the street and just sat there to wait until someone stopped to check out the trunk. After a short wait, a car stopped and some guys got out and loaded the trunk up into the backseat of the car. The car got about 100 feet down the road and suddenly stopped. All of sudden the guys in the car opened all the doors and took off running in opposite directions. My great uncle said you could hear that bobcat tearing the inside of that car apart.

The point of all this is that maybe someone could put a bobcat inside an ice chest and wait for someone to come steal it? I bet they wouldn't ever steal an ice chest again.

We tailgate off Highland Rd. and had someone scope our our tailgate, and saw that we had nice things and decided to make their move. We had 3 iphones, a blackberry and 2 digital cameras stolen from us right in front of everyone. The white trash thieves pretended to be from out of town and wanted to experience a true tiger tailgate so they found a few drunk people from around our tailgate (by 2pm its not that hard to find.) They pretended act friendly, hung around for long enough for everyone to feel comfortable around them, saw the right time and then jacked our stuff right off the table and chairs. Look have a beer from the ice chest, take a shot, eat some food, whatever I don't care it's all there to share and for everyone to have a good time. But the level of thievery around the campus on gameday has gotten out of control! (I blame OBAMA for this new Robin Hood mentality. Why can't people just get a job like the rest of us and buy their own crap instead of stealing it! )
