Exactly. The people claiming we can’t afford his buyout… come on. The costs of riding with him and this dumpster fire another few years will be far greater. The administration has to find a way to buy him out, talk him into retirement, or meet somewhere in the middle. Because the writing is plain as day on the wall. Yeah it would be a massive financial setback, but at least you starting from a clean slate and you can only hope the administration can learn from this disaster of a experience and not ever let this happen again. Get a young up and comer who has fire in him on a cheap 1-2 year prove it deal and see where it goes. We all know we will be in rebuild next year, so that’s where you start clean.

ND man here. Please believe me that by not being very vocal about Kelly’s inability to produce a consistently successful football team, you are enabling the mediocrity which will infect your program until he is gone.
A few quick stats to drive this home. In Kelly’s 12 long, long, long years at ND, his teams were. 1-17 against top 5 teams; 17-21 against top 10 teams; a mere 50% wins against top 25 teams; 5-6 in post season play, including 0-4 in playoff/NC games.
Brian Kelly is not and never will be the savior that you administration dumped $100m on. I understand his payout is going to hurt, but it is time to rip off the bandaid. Your proud program deserves better!
