Creatine monohydrate, found in most pre and post workout supplements, could be the root source of his cramping issue. Creatine, especially the monohydrate form of this amino acid complex, causes the body to retain excess water weight and thus creating an imbalance or a deficiency of vital electrolytes.

They use to give us salt which will retain water in your body, but now they deem it unhealthy. However, it worked back then.
