Maybe that's not his style or maybe he doesn't have to do that to get to his players? Who really knows? I know I would've because that's how I coach but I can think of great coaches that most of the time you didn't see that Saban type ripping that you see on TV now a days. Examples: Gene Stallings, Bobby Bowden, Joe Peterno, Tom Osborne, Mack Brown, etc. No not saying Peterson is as good as these guys but wanted to provide examples.

We are doing a horrible job of developing talent. The number of guys drafted is going down and the guys arent making rosters. Charles Scott got cut from the cardinals today, I heard Big Herman Johnson got cut....
It is not Miles' job to make his players into great NFL Athletes. Its his job to utilize them to win games.

Ah, the irony.
But but but Les is lacking so much emotion on the sidelines...

Because it wasn't a block in the back! It was overturned and rightly so. Boise won the game with inferior talent, they played with heart. Go watch the movie Rudy sometime.

This thread is about replacing Miles with Chris Petersen
That's not what I asked you & you still have not answered my question

not doing all that great of a job at that lately man
you have to win and do it convincingly here and there. we have done it twice over decent teams since 2007...

Golfer your a 30 handicap in your views. It is Miles Job to prepare his players for a career in the NFL. Why do you think they come here? They come here to improve their skill set to go to the NFL and make millions thats the reason they come here. Being a Miles fan after the continual downward spiral is borderline insane. I think Miles is a nice guy, I really do, and thats fine if he is my neighbor but not someone who is at the wheel of the LSU Tiger reputation and future. He is a terrible evaluator of assistant coaches and has more lousy hires than Obama. He isn't intelligent and has no business coaching SEC football. He will be out after this season and will take the Colorado Job, he isnt good enough to take the Michigan job.

And I agree. But once again the idiots put requirements on Miles that are not required of others.

What Irony? That Les is lacking emotion? Hell that's been known for a while, but that's not the issue. The issue is whatever he does whether emotional or not not cutting it because his teams that hit the field still show the same crap they have been showing since he's been here.
I could care less if it's someone like Tom Osborne or Nick Saban whom are complete opposites, just give me a disciplined, well prepared and well coached football team that plays up to it's maximum potential and I would be satisfied, save to say that doesn't happen under Miles.

Which was not the case for Chris Petersen's team tonight...IMO. Yet we're calling for him to be in Baton Rouge by the WVU game...

I wanna see LSU put a team on the field that plays to its potential. When we are up on an opponent, I want them to be put away at the first opportunity. I think those two things are all anyone can expect because if they do those things, the wins will follow.

Like who? Whoever is the Head Football Coach is at LSU I expect to do everything I just told you in a previous messege. I don't care if it's Miles or Pee Wee Herman coaching LSU, I expect greatness and putting a great product on the field that plays up to their maximum potential.

Agreed. But evidenced by Chris Petersen tonight, he is not the solution.

nah a friend was all about him and I was like if we replace Miles we have to do better. I don't trust the history of former BSU coaches (Nutt, Koetter, Hawkins..)

Golfer, have you ever played football? Ever coached it? U ever going to answer the question I asked you? What football coaches out there in college football do you respect/thing are good to great coaches?

Fortunately or Unfortunately for the fans/players - none of this matters.
Only one thing matters for the school- How can we increase the revenue or if that is not possible in this economy- at least maintain status quo.
So if we are still winning enough games and going to good Bowls and getting money - that is a successful season.
The athletic director or board even couldn't care less if we won with discipline or if the entire opposition through out the season came down with flu and we played with the water boy.
So long as the school's name is not besmirched by too many scandals and as long as we are able to bring in enough money (including TAF, boosters, alums, advertisers etc....) - all that matters is just that W.
As a fan it disappoints me when we don't stomp the opposition 70-10 and all our players show their full potential every game but then finally all that matters is the W.

I have been kicked off this site dozens of times for saying anything negative about Miles.
I would say you've been kicked off because you are a dumbshit who is incapable of holding a rational discussion about the ups and downs of the program...

Start a fricking thread about it. We are talking about Chris Petersen's game plan and whether his ability to coach at LSU is warranted.
And apparently I'm now required to have played football and coached it to have a valid opinion.
Christ, this place is amazing.

Nutt
At least Nutt is a winner and gets almost all he can out of each of his squads each year. The guy has been to multiple New Year's Day Bowl games and has one a couple of SEC West Championships. Might call me crazy but I honestly feel that he would be a better Head Coach at LSU than Les Miles.
