Yeah, Rohan and "the best wr in SEC history" were a joke.
Statistically more productive, but JR and the big three was pitch and catch. He didn't have one guy to soak up all of the stats. He had THREE 1st rounders, oh and JR was a #1 himself.
RD was a great college player, no doubt, but I'd rather have the FOUR 1st rounders that LSU had in 2005.
Four, because remember that Addai wasn't bad either. OOPS, the 2006 guys forgot about him, I guess.

Reed was so huge because he got all the looks.
Nah, he got all the looks because he was that wide open.
Secondly, it would take your 2 1st round recievers to equal is yardage production alone. You may be able to even add the third in it and it be close.

If we continue to debate this it would be a serious thread highjack, so I'll just agree to disagree on that one and move on.

Edited mam, and have coffee with those guys and harp on Les..........enjoy some community and relish the fact that Saban would be dominating........or Steve.......or Butch Davis.......or Del Rio.........or Brian Billick.......who am I missing? ANYONE BUT MILES.

Petrino and Spurrier

or Butch Davis
now that is a scary thought. That is one coach I never want to see at LSU.

Word, but you and I both know that Reed was the truth compared to the Bowe/Davis combo. If Reed played with another elite reciever he would have eclipsed 2000 yards recieving and 15 tds.

Steve was listed but damn I forgot about Petrino, the NFL wanted him bad too. WHEWWWWWWWW,

You have to add in Doucet. They were a three headed monster.
But he didn't. He was a one man show. Which was the original point- comparing squad to squad.

I'd still take Reed and two WR's from Delcambre over the squad you are debating. That's just my side though.

I'm in this fight with you. These people will never learn. They have nothing better to do than create fictional scenarios under head coaches and "what if's". I'm sick and tired of this B.S.
SFP is a know-it-all w/ a fresh out of law school attitude. Some people think they have the answers to everything. Give'em time to realize that the world doesn't revolve around LSU sports. There are bigger fish to fry in life than, "Saban would've" or "Mike Leach could've".
Some people need to argue for the sake of arguing and I'm sick of it...
Quit looking back, and look forward. If there are problems within the LSU program suggest solutions. 2005/2006 have come and gone, we can't win championships by talking our way back into them. Instead look forward to this years bowl game, and next season. LSU has a great oppurtunity to rise from the ashes in 2009.
Tigerdroppings is a great site for discussing college football. It disgust me that I have to wade through all of the garbage spit by some many posters, just to find some good convo's and information.

L S Utheforce, how can you use words like "prolixity" and then turn around and use "unwarrented" and "hear"?
Just wondering.
Anyways, I was a little unsure about the Saban hire AND the Miles hire. To me it was a little easier to come on board and believe in Saban and I liked his intensity. Miles on the other hand, I had a lot of other fans telling me that it wouldn't be long before he f'd LSU up. I hoped they were wrong but I was still unsure. Last year it was GREAT news when I thought he was going to UM. I wanted Spurrier or even Tuberville.
I just don't think Miles is that knowledgeable. I can't even figure out what defining element he brings to this team. He seems to know nothing of offense or defense. His players lack discipline and I still want to know EXACTLY what was the straw that broke the camel's back with RP. The kid seems to be doing fine now that he is gone.
Is Miles a good person with morals? YES
Is he a good football coach? Not at all

Did Miles win 34 games in 3 years? Yes
Has ANY other LSU Footbll Coach done that in 3 consecutive years? Not even close

Spurrier 0-2 against Miles
Tuberville 1-3 against Miles
Now go ask the is Miles a good football coach question again.
