Ya'll are great LSU fans, but you don't see the problems. First, if our QB's don't perform well, all our opponents are going to load inside the box and are TB's are not going to look as good. Last year, in offense formations that had two backs, the three above did not look good, particularly inside running. Miles went with Hester partially because he did not think that the others were excelling. He would have loved to have Hester at FB with another at TB (which he did rarely) because the TB's were not pleasing him. I love our team and the forecast for the upcoming season... but wait to praise the TB's until they prove what they can do. There were problems with them last year. #32 and #26 need to be given time to prove themselves (and I hope they will, but there are questions.)

This is the stuff I am talking about. Seriously... watch the play. He gets the pitchout-option (I think that was the play) and turns it up-field. He easily cut inside a player who in no way could tackle him and then jumps awkwardly and is tackled. Great play for our team.. but guys really a so-so average run skill-wise. Look.. He has no opposition and turning up field is a easy decision. He shows acceleration (thats great) but the defender he cuts into over-ran the play and it is a easy move. Now his attempt to hurdle is bad and had he stayed on the ground either straight ahead (good) or cut left (the best) or right (the worst) he would have ended up further down-field. He is talented, but nearly any coach would be more critical than praising of the run.

Dude, calm down, hester was good no doubt and helped us win a title, but the other four RB's we have plus the new comer, ridley, will make us almost forget about jacob hester.

RM,CS,TH, and KW ALL have the ability to take it all the way on ANY play.

Couldn't say that with Hester.

Sure, he might get you a 20 yard run, and a hard hit at the end of it, but he wasn't going to burn you 70+ yards (besides la tech, which was hilarious)

So really, chill out and enjoy the show that will be LSU's backfield this coming up season.

TheDoc does have good advice for me. I will chill and enjoy. I started to really enjoy all LSU sports beginning my first year at LSU in "73 and I know what it is like to lose. Lose alot. Lose alot in all sports. This is going to be a great year, no matter, as we bask in the glow of BCS Championsip. Can't a ranter rant and be retarded ? (Which I am not doing!)

Clemson's crew > Our's at this point

They are just sick nasty

Ditto Oklahoma, USC, UGA, and OSU

There are alot of great RB's around the nation IMO

I just love that pistol formation, it's the coolest formation in the playbook.

the pistol needs a lot to work right

i saw a syracuse game last year and the QB was just getting HAMMERED

the angle the QB is in when in the pistol formation allows DEs to spit wide and gives them a great angle to just tee off

1 yard TD runs are worth the same number of points as 70 yard TD runs...I love long runs as much as the next guy, but I doubt many coaches lose sleep over the fact that their RB may not be able to score on a 70 yard run.

Most coaches actually rather a back who can pound out first downs and not just score on long plays. This allows the offense to wear down opposing defenses and control the fourth quater. Which LSU did all last year. The reason Miles didnt play Williams as much last year was because he couldnt consistantly hit the hole and get those 3-4 yard gains. It is much harder to have a 3rd and 10 rather then a 3rd and 3.

The question is who will be your QB? You can't be one-dimensional and expect to win.
