$40 is acceptable for an SEC game but they really should be pushing them out at $20 each just to get butts in the seats.

I'm suprised at the low ticket sales also. First thing Saturday, LSU needs to lower the prices. Any available lower bowl seat - 20$, upper bowl seat - 10$, and high school students get in for 5$.

Now that they have gotten pretty much all they will get, it's time to pack the stadium. Will look bad on tv and to the players who are feeding off the crowd. Won't make a whole lot more, but won't be an embarrassment either.

Wish I could be there!

Doesn't Tiger Stadium become the fifth largest (or something like that) most populated area in LA on Saturdays?

What an ignorant jerk you are. You don't have a fricking clue what it takes to sell 40,000+ tickets in two days with no notice.

Oh, great. Another clueless idiot contributing his wisdom.

LSU doesn't control the prices for this game. South Carolina does. But then, if you had the first inclination to inform yourself before spouting your bullshite, you'd already know that.

The way you gets butts in seats is to not have it on TV.

Neither school has any incentive to do this. More people means more staff needed, which means more expenses. South Carolina would rather sell one $75 ticket than three $25 tickets. It's the same money, less expenses (due to lower staffing needs) deducted from the gate, and fewer fans in the stands rooting for LSU. Why would they (who control ticket prices) want to drop prices just to get butts in seats?

Semantics at this point, whoever controls the prices should get with the program and price those tickets to move.

I'm surprise 40,000 were sold already to be honest.

I figure many people will buy their tickets tomorrow.

Uh, more tickets sold equals more revenue?

They are getting $0 off an unsold ticket. It's pretty simple. I'm sure your "staffing needs" are a fixed cost at this point regardless of how many show up.

All these people had "plans"? BS! I plan to be watching the damn game! If I lived closer than 1100 miles away within a decent driving distance I would be there.

Then you should have jumped in your car and driven your arse down there. It's only about 16-17 hours to BR. If you have two drivers, it's easy as hell. I live in DC and I have SEVERAL times driven down with either one or two other people for a weekend to attend a game without any of us missing any work either Friday or Monday. So step it up if you're so gung-ho that you can't deal with people going to pre-planned weddings, vacations, hunting, etc.

Not sure who pissed in your Cheerios and made you the all knowing king guru of football, but I'm a season ticket holder. I have to work this weekend or I would be there. I think $75 for section 103 row 54 (which is what pulled up when I was looking at tickets out of curiosity) is a STEAL for any game!

That being said, this "idiot" feels that a half-empty stadium looks bad on TV for any reason. I also see that the team reacts to the excitement of the crowd. So, how cool would it be to all those high school kids out there to be able to go watch for 5$?! I would buy tickets for Brandon's old teammates to go watch him play because that's not something they get to do every day.

If SC controls the ticket prices, then they are fools to not lower the prices. Even if they just get exposure to La athletes, would it kill them to make the gesture? None of their fans are coming so make friends and fans by doing the right thing. Let people who normally couldn't afford to go, experience the thrill.

Maybe I'm an idiot for wanting the school to look good on TV. Or maybe you are just a donkey who wants to criticize everyone.

I'm not sure how people don't understand the situation. LSU football games are not just people from Baton Rouge. In Nola there are at least 3 school fairs that were planned because LSU was out of town. I'm sure that this is the case all over the state. People plan their lives around home and away games for LSU and the Saints. This is a weekend in which both were supposed to be out of town. Yes, I will be in front of the TV, but no, I can't spend 8 hours going to the game. I could care less what the ticket prices are. I just don't have the ability to go to the game this weekend. The schedule comes out a year in advance for a reason. The fact that 40-60 thousand people can change their plans with a 4-5 days notice is great, but there are also another 40-60 that can't. I'm not sure how people don't realize that.
