1 game out of first... nice turnaround. But the job is far from finished. Reading the thread by "S" this morning about how the 2004 team was something like 21-4 and then went about 1-7 to finish out (lost Jaime Lloreda).
Having said that, the season being far from over can also be a good thing. We could take off on a hot streak.

Excited for what exactly? You are one of those OM like fans..."hey man, just as long as we get in the tourney". I can see where you young kids could get excited about that I guess, since you have probably only seen LSU win one tournament game, in your life. Some of us have seen 3 final fours and countless sweet 16 and elite 8 appearances. Forgive us for not getting excited for a one and done or possibly a 2 and done. Sorry.

Yeah you idiots, the only team to ever make a run in the tournament was undefeated in the regular season. It's impossible for a team with a bunch of talent to get hot and make a run.

I wouldn't be excited about not making the Sweet 16 this year, but i won't be overly upset if they make the tourney and don't make it that far. The NCAA tournament is 6 one game seasons to win the championship. Anything can happen in one game to win or lose. NC State doesn't make a tip in last year or Jordan Mickey makes a wide open lay up and LSU has a very good shot to make the Sweet 16 and then who knows. The best a fan can hope for is to get in the tourney and the team set themselves up to have a shot to make a run.

We've made 9 sweet 16s. You can't count to 9?
We made back to back tournaments ONCE in the last 20+ years. So having a breath of life thrown back into our once proud program should be exciting for all.
Tell me, can you make the sweet 16 without making the tournament?

They could make the final four and lose and people would still complain and want Johnny fired because they didn't win a championship. I am all for expectations and wanting to win championships but at some point people need to realize that just because you didn't win a championship doesn't mean the whole season is a failure.

Let me tell you something you hollow idiot. I saw FOUR FINAL FOURS, NOT THREE and yes I think once we get in all bets are off because you never know. When I was there in Dallas after the Baton Rouge and Atlanta wins when we were an 11th seed, that's right you pisspoor excuse for whatever you consider yourself, people like you were saying we should be in the NIT. I'm confused. We are in sole possession of 2nd place with our win over Kentucky and one game out of first place. And so many posters have trashed our head coached in a way worse than they trash Coach Miles.
Can somebody explain what there rationale is? They want Miles fired, they want Jones fired and it our baseball team starts out slow they will be calling for baseball coach to be fired.
