All of this cause Tim Williams stated the fact that LSU kept running the ball with 8 men in the box!!!!(which GD thinks is great strategy)I remember us playing Miss ST scouting report, stout, very good front 7 , secondary ranks among the worst in the Nation!! so what does ol Les do? Runs into there strength.//// WITHOUT the highest paid Coaching staff and great D Coordinators this clown would have been exposed from day 1. He is C Hallman with great facilities and a big budget for a coaching staff!!!! I'm sorry but this clown, GD is pushing his Miles Crush and love affair agenda to damn far. Nobody gets fired for being as great as GD is TRYING to make Miles out to be. SO GREAT and can't get a job
He was talking about this year dumbass. Blame ed orgeron.
I've never once called Miles a great coach dumbass. Not once.
Pete Carroll and Bill Belichik have been fired before. I guess they suck using your footbal ignorant logic about fired coaches.
At no point have i defended his running into a stacked box. I merely state fact. I'm sorry Facts about a former lsu coach hurts your vagina.
Your football ignorant opinion of miles is meaningless. There isnt a coach, at any level, that would take your opinion on their coaching over the facts of having one of the most accomplished tenures in sec history.

Exactly. Miles not getting job offers means he sucks yet O not getting even coordinator offers means he is great.

I dont think anyone is going to argue Coach O is a genius X and O's head coach. What will be argued is what Miles' major problem was an issue we won't have with Coach O which is primarily the reason why we "Settled" for O, kept Aranda and hired Canada. O's job really doesn't change a whole helluva lot, we need him to be recruiter he's always been, a master motivator, and just allow Canada and Aranda do their jobs since they know WTF they're doing. Now he just gets to be the face of it all.
It's a very different approach than pretty much any school. Miles' downfall was the reason he wasn't getting hired by other places, but a Coach O with great coordinators could still very much work. Meanwhile, Miles in the same scenario, you get a totally different, bad offensive product guaranteed.

We just fired a great recruiter and great motivator. I'm excited about Canada though. It'll be refreshing to see a coach form a game plan around the player's strengths.
If we hired O to get out of the way and just recruit we should've offered the job to Aranda. At least our defense would be set every year and its not like anyone was trying to hire O away.
O is the highest paid motivator and recruiter in cfb.

His age is a bigger reason. If he were hired today he would be the oldest person to be offered a p5 job in a decade. Right now there are 2 coaches older than Miles. Of course his offense is also an issue but if he were 55 he would get some major offers given his resume. It's just the retread nature of cfb. How many jobs did Charlie weis get?

I dont care whats getting old to you.

If you have trouble understanding that, I could ask you the same question.
I just looked through some of your posts and 90% of your posting is making personal attacks. I'm sorry you were/are picked on IRL. Maybe one day youll stand up for yourself when you're not behind a keyboard. Probably not but hey , you can dream.

Thanks for your service Les. Good luck in life. FWIW, I wanted him gone in 07 when, while leaving BDS, the gumps were creaming in their pants after a loss. After witnessing that shite show of an offense against a VASTLY inferior Bama squad, they felt certain CLM and LSU would soon be surpassed by them. Les is, by most accounts, a good man and a good recruiter. That being said, he oversaw the decline and had to go. It will be nice to see an attempt at coaching on the offensive side of the ball Saturdays in the fall. However, if O shits the bed, then he can pack his shite too.

I agree but that bullshite personal foul call really put us in a bad spot. Bama fans can say whatever they want, but everybody knows that you have to beat them and the refs. They have gotten so many bullshite calls/non-calls at pivotal points in the game that could very easily have been the difference in losing or winning a game. Brandon harris throwing that int on the first play of the second half at bama in 2015 pissed me off. That was the game changing play, we never recovered from that.

Miles' tenure had the same amount of top 10 finishes as the combined seasons from 1965-2004.
It was time for him to go though.
You can only lie about changing the offense so many times.

Why are we still discussing this shite. The simple truth is to beat bama in the SEC you better really best them. Probably by at least 10 pts or more because they have lost one close game to LSU which they avenged in Natty game.
If you leave to the refs and calls you are screwed. Just like in boxing if you want to beat the champ it takes a convincing win, he gets the benefit of the doubt just like they do, year after year

Bama has been beaten recently 2 ways.
Have a qb that can extend plays or bama has to be at least -2 in turnovers.
IMO there is no prostyle can offensive scheme that will beat bama because no can programs recruits well enough on the oline to match bama's depth in the front 7.
The worst game plan you can have against bama is the miles gameplan of trying to match strength against strength with their front 7. They are just too deep and talented.

Chill out jack. I was simply stating the obvious that the personal foul call was bs and it was. Calls like that at the most pivotal point in a game definitely affect the outcome whether you like it or not, it's true. I know you cant leave it up to the refs and blame the loss solely on horrible officiating but that call had alot to do with les settling for the FG instead of going for the td...we went to overtime after bama tied it with a FG and then lost in overtime by the way. Even les bitched about it. I have no problem saying we got our asses kicked fair and square if that was the case but its not. Just my opinion.

I love it when I hit a nerve with you....
And NO I never wanted Miles to fail... I just post the mistakes that he made that were facts.... you don't think he ever made a mistake... And I have never said O was the right hire....
And you saying I'm not a fan and that I never stepped on campus shows how much of a little baby you are when you are proven wrong.... it happens with every poster on here that disagrees with you....
Why did LSU lose to a much inferior Clemson team in the bowl game??? Why did LSU lose to A sad Norte Dame team in a bowl game???? Why did LSU lose to Bama in 2012???? Why did LSU lose to an outmanned terrible Ole Miss team in 2013??? Why did LSU's offense look putrid for all off 2015 and the 1st 4 games of the 2016 season with two of the best backs in the country????
There is a two word answer for these questions....
Les Miles...... Fact......

If Miles is as great as some make him out to be, he would have ZERO issue getting a new job, wherever that is. IT's not like he's on the bad side of his early 60's. If Nick Saban was fired tomorrow every team in the country would make him an offer. It's way less to do about age and way more to do with the fact the entire country got to see his problem, say he was going to fix it, then didn't fix it. That shows a guy unwilling to change, and what team would want to a hire a coach who wants to instill his offense which CLEARLY rarely ever works?
And Charlie weis? Come on man, he was terrible. Every person on here will willingly admit Miles was a much better coach than Charlie Weis. Age may play SOME part in Miles' struggle to get a new HC job, but it isn't the primary factor at all. He's in very good shape for his age. Butch Davis at 65 just got the FIU HC gig.

Couldn't agree more. Les has said he wants to coach again and wants it to be a power 5 job...only problem is nobody wants to hire him lol. He was his own worst enemy. He didn't want to change what obviously wasn't working and it was his downfall. Look, everyone associated with college football knows that les miles had awesome talent here and didn't produce with it. What is going to change at another power 5 school where you don't get the talent he had at lsu? That's why les doesn't have a job. Mark richt had no problem getting a great job at miami soon after he was fired at uga.

The best coach in cfb with by far the most talent loses to an inferior team every year.

just another time where facts prove youre football ignorant.
We finished above BAMA,OHIO STATE AND FSU in offensive yards per game, offensive points per game, offensive yards per play. But hey don't let facts get in the way of you being ignorant
