I haven't seen either JJ or Lee showcase defense readabilty. Lee is the better passer, JJ can't hit the wide open deep route. As far as the talk of needing experience goes, what experience did McElroy have?

Man...the spring game really has some of ya'll perched on ledges and digging bunkers in the back yard.
I amazed at how no one seems to remember how poor the o-line played last year...it's rarely mentioned in the QB threads.

Here is something to wrap your head around. If the RP incident didn't happen. The debate today might be who will be our new starting QB? Jr Lee or So Jefferson both with limited to no game experience. Yes Jefferson probably would have been redshirted that first year. How the actions of one bad egg can have a ripple effect for several years.

quote:Naw, it's really the last two seasons at QB. Spring Training simply showed us that there is no hope for QB development. JJ and JL are still not showing any evidence of maturing as QBs who can compete at championship levels in the SEC West. This coaching staff is not showing any awareness that this could maybe be a problem for LSU in 2010. The beat goes on...

Yes it is...
Haven't recruited a top 20 rated QB since RP....
Pay attention to what you are saying!

Makes me wonder why Miles hasn't hired a QB coach after the last two seasons have had below average QB play.

thats because their figuring out that it wasnt the oline that was the major problem...you keep harping on it and we kept telling you no oline can keep DL and other people out of the backfield for 8 seconds...we kept telling you all year people were loading the box b/c they didnt respect JJ's throwing....we tried to tell you but no...had to wait till the spring game to figure it out...

It still amazes me to read statements like poor development and terrible game day preparation...of course then you look over and see the poster has miles wearing a micky mouse costume. that is a joke. Give Miles time to prepare and he kicks major arse in big games, especially bowl games. I throw out the Penn State water polo game. Your savior saban doesn't have the same success as miles when given time to prepare. As for development, did it every occur to you that JJ just flat out sux? The guy has to take some accountability on his own. I don't think coaches can coach a guy to where he can make reads. they can help him, but ultimately he has to progress himself and JJ hasn't done that at all. As for Lee....the guy got shell shocked when thrown to the wolves...lost a lot of confidence....and what does our GREAT fans do...boo his arse in a close game against La. Tech. Yeah, maybe it should not have been close, but congrats fans, that a boy, thats the way to build up a guy. It's too bad these fans have turned out to be just like michigan and alabama...it used to be we just went out and went crazy wild at games and it was a sacred place to play. Now, people leave at half time and boo our qb...and blame everyone under the sun for finishing 9-3......THAT is what is sad.

JL- rated 7th
JJ- rated 8th
RS- rated 1st
CG- rated 18th
I guess you are totally wrong. You should probably check your facts instead of sharing stupidity.

The o-line couldn't keep the DL out of the backfield for 4 seconds, let alone 8. JJ had about 3 seconds before he either had to get rid of the ball or scramble.

Recruiting top qb's is not our problem. Development is the problem. Lee and JJ were both heavily recruited. Lee was an elite 11 QB, who many said was the star of the elite 11 camp.

Yeah our coaches suck. They have not been able to develop 19 year olds to be super stars yet. They really suck as coaches. I mean, USC and Oklahoma had no one developed to fill in, because of youth, but that is DIFFERENT. Spurrier can't develop a qb at SC because he sux as a QB coach. Tenn obviously can't. Bama hasn't done real well there, nor has auburn, or State. Look at Houston Nutt, he destroyed their qb this year. You guys on here that complain about coaches constantly, wanting to blame someone. Go f yourselves. You are literally uneducated idiots that can't understand reality.

Lee in 07 was a 4* and the #7 QB according to rivals
Jefferson in 08 4* and the #8 Pro style QB
Garrett 09 3* and the #18 Pro Style QB
Lee 10 4* and the #9 Pro style QB
the problem is not recruiting....

Lsu will gradually get worse until we get a new HC. Les is a great guy & a hell of a recruiter but I don't think he is an Sec coach. He stepped in to a good program Thar Sabin left. I am not a Sabin fan now but have to admit he can coach.

Your right about everything but spelling Saban.
