Did you really just compare him to Polamalu? Christ. The guy was a good play maker, but this is just absurd.
It's really not that absurd. They have very similar styles of play, with great football instincts that can't be taught. Polamalu is obviously bigger, however.

Yes great player, but hes not bigger than the program. Many of great players had their careers cut short. Some never a chance to return. He should consider himself lucky.

You're talking pro-bowler and one time NCAA standout. You could speculate as to his future, but speculation is all it would be.
Comparing him to TP is just irresponsible.

Irresponsible? Really? ONOZ

Closest thing to Polamalu that I've ever seen. Uncanny ball instincts and game changing ability.
The only reason LSU fans would write him off - a Heisman candidate, mind you (how many of those have we had?) - is because he's not playing and it makes them feel better to tear him down rather than appreciate how special of a talent he truly is.

Please name ONE other player in the NCAA last year, hell ANY YEAR, that was as good as TM7 at literally taking the ball away from offenders. I'll wait... Just off the top of my head I can name the UF game, Arky game, Oregon game. To say he isnt missed is just "irresponsible."

His return game? We've got as good, if not better in ODB
Here I was thinking he was a rapper.
It was like Revis island. Honey Badger island: the place where turnovers happen.
I bet it'll be hard to sit home and not get his chance for revenge on Bama. He'll be back to take them down next year though. Geaux Tigers!

Any post or thread that uses the word swagger becomes instant garbage.
It's like saying something incredibly smart, then saying you heard it on Keeping Up With The Kardashians. You just lose credibility that fast.

TM is a self-centered a-hole, who put himself above his team. If he comes back, he must be tested daily

He was the soul of this team. One of the most amazing players in LSU history.
Yes, very missed.
Yes, very missed.

There is no doubt that we miss him, how could we not? The guy had that magic, creating turnovers, being in the right place at the right time. Overall as a Def, we are ok. Our Def. Stats were actually better vs. Auburn this yr than last yr. TM7 did it to himself, a tough way to learn a lesson. But, i hope he gets a second chance. What a story if it works out.... We do miss his "flair" (not gonna say swagger)....

I watched the Florida game replay last night and TM7 just did stuff that fired the defense up on a lot of plays. That is what he brings - emotion and passion. Just not feeling it out of the defense right now, They had more swag last year,

I'm for the honey badger to but did any of u see last years NC game. Bama completed passes over him all game. If he returns next year he will be used as a nickle back or punt returner.

so he goes from Heisman candidate, the all-time leader in forced fumbles, to situational player?
People seriously overstate his lack of coverage skills. He's solid in coverage

So, in your eyes, Tyrann Mathieu was "good" and a "standout". Give me a fricking break, man. In 2 years of football, he proved himself to be easily one of the top 5 overall players in LSU football history. His nose for the ball, his instincts, his open-field tackling and his return skills were all ELITE and second to none. Not to mention his attitude on the field and the way he gave 100% every single down with no exceptions, was something that is hard to quantify, but was incredibly valuable. Granted, he wasn't ELITE in coverage, but he was certainly very good.
I bet you're the type of guy that, when LSU misses out on a 5-star recruit, you say "We didn't want him anyway."
