Mallet still may declare for the NFL.
JJ out played McElroy in the Bama game until he got hurt.
Brantley has never started a game in the SEC & Florida is losing there top 3 receiver along with the Pouncey Twins.

So let's just support our QB and stop all this Bitching about our QB

When will you get that LSU fans will never support LSU unless we (1)go undefeated (just search "backed into the 2007 NC"), (2) are coached by Saban.

So thinking Jefferson is 4th best QB in SEC is bitching about him?

Actually they are losing their top 2 receivers... and 3 of their top 5 including the TE Hernandez. They are losing the twins which will be a blow early as they replace them.

We could debate that... I think they were actually even if you are looking at the numbers

On offense, JJ is about 4th or 5th on our list of problems (as a first year starter in the SEC, no less).

1. Coaching (GC)
2. O-line
3. Playcalling
4. No run game
5. JJ's indecisiveness (his accuracy and arm strength are fine, but he needs to know when to pull the trigger).

1 and 3 are basically the same thing, 2 and 4 are really connected, so that makes JJ the 3rd biggest problem really

I'm not sure I agree. By coaching I mean preparation, conditioning, etc. before the game. A coach can do a so-so job of prepping his players for a game, but (1) call plays that suit the players' strengths, and (2) call plays that are appropriate to the situation (i.e. two runs up the middle during the Ole Miss game).

O line and running game are likewise very closely related, but distinct. Even without a run game, a less porous O-line always (yes always) makes QBs look better.

If JJ is the best QB then the SEC could be the sorriest conference in football.

His accuracy is not that good. Too many low throws all year; has not learned to throw the high back shoulder pass that most teams with tall receivers utilize now. Were he truly accurate he could have completed 70% this year with the receiving corps he had. And I can't tell you how many times in the 10 games I attended he had open guys(Dickson and Lafell mostly)and for whatever reason he could not pull the trigger, usually getting himself sacked or getting intentional grouding called. He is talented and has tremendous upside but it is time for that upside to show, regardless of who's coaching him.

I can't argue with you about his decision making and zeroing in on one receiver (your point about Lafell and Dickson) but completion % in the low 60s is good for a true sophomore. I din't say he was the next Colt McCoy. The fact that a lot of his completions were short routes does diminish that number a little, but he typically made them under a good amount of pressure. And I only saw him throwing really low a few times before Penn State.
