From what the BR radio hosts were saying, it seems like LSU had already realized this kid wasn't going to make it and has been proceeding without him for some time.
They let him know what was expected and told him to give them a shout if he wanted to get his shite together. Its a bad loss for the team, but nothing they hadn't been planning on for a while now.

Let him jump to the NFL out of JC, if he is able and frankly we have no idea how good this kid is or if he is any good at all. He has already waived red flags at the league and unless he has an attitude adjustment he will waive more.
I've seen so many different descriptions of the kid on this board. At least this should end the biweekly thread on what is going on with him that we all endured this past year.
One or preferably two of Gilmore, Bain, and Herron need to become contributors at DT. None have showed much up till this point, but this is their third year in the system. Probably now or never for them. They came in with Loc and all were more touted than Loc. Well it happens and hopefully they will come around.

Yeah, our dline recruiting has been bad. Nobody really living up to expectations the past few years and a lot of attrition. Feels like we're losing luster there so hopefully Coach O can sort it out. Not sure if he will this year but it's a start. I'm kinda worried it might be the biggest weakness on the defense again this year.

On no doubt he's going to be a stud but we've recruited a lot of dlineman past few years who are either very slow developers or just not living up to what we thought. Rasco never came close to what we thought he could be but by his senior year he was okay. Hunter looked good without his shirt on and played hard but was an overall average player. A lot of attrition there too. Gilmore/Bain seem to be extremely slow developing. Don't know about the young DEs yet.
We're just not living up to the DL-U reputation. We lack a nasty streak and if you can't dominant the trenches in the SEC you're going home early. I'd argue DL was our problem the past 2 years and it might continue into this season. At least we have Coach O now to clean it up though.
