Both Lopez twins are gone but what doesn't get talked about is the amount of experience and veterans they have on the team this year. They have 4 seniors and 5 juniors.

LSU is very similar with 5 seniors and 2 red shirt juniors.

LSU went to a Final Four 2 years ago and won 2 SEC titles in a seven year span, When did Stanford last make the Final Four or win a conference title?

How long has it been since you were a kid?

I was born in 83 so I was ~12yo when Brevin Knight was the man at Stanford and that's as far back as I can remember. Here's the wiki on Stanford. Here's LSU's. It's pretty close really. I was just curious about why he left Stanford because that's not a scrub program by any means.

he was the pac10 coach of the year last year and had i think 1 year left on his deal but stanford seemed reluctant to give him any kind of big raise. he mentioned having a bigger pool of athletes to recruit from at a place like LSU. obviously its harder to get a kid into stanford than LSU.

Yup, part of the reason we're doing well. Been down to 4 seniors recently though

Not really that close. Stanford has been to a total of 16 NCAA tournaments, LSUwent to 15 straight from 1979-1993 under Dale Brown.

Stanford has been to 2 Final fours, LSU has gone to four Final Fours.

Stanford has been to one Elite Eight and has 2 Sweet 16 appearances, LSU has three Sweet 16 showings and 2 Elite Eight appearances.

Stanford last won a conference title 66 years ago, LSU has 8 conference titles since 1953.

Yeah I know that LSU has a solid basketball tradition. I was just talking about since I can remember which is like the past 15 years. The programs are pretty simliar.

Wiki says Stanford has was 4 conference titles since 99 and won the conf tourney once in 04. They also have won the NCAA tourney 1 time. I was surprised to see that LSU has never won it.

I was just wondering why he switched jobs because the difference in programs as of late appears to be marginal. More money, better recruiting, and arguably a weaker conference makes sense.
