I hear Hard Lead No. 2 Pencil Break is coming back, they could get next years top recruit if they get on the ball!

IMO we shouldnt have agreed to do a return trip. If we dangle baseball and basketball in front of their faces they have no choice but to back down
it was a bad charity deal in the 1st place

Does it feel to anyone else like we put a stop order Tulane's welfare check?

But, this is a school that fires teachers and buys off professors to hide the fact that athletes need not, and, more likely, should not/can not, do their own work in the classroom. Nothing about that "university" (and I use that term with some disdain) is to be admired.

"First, GFY. How I handle people breaking a contract and insulting my intelligence is up to me. Your fans claimed that breaking the deal was because of BCS implications, which is clearly BS. Your fans (and you) claimed that it's about money and getting a better game for your season ticket holders. Clearly, that is BS.
LSU was under no obligation to buy out of the deal. Their GREED and SPITE toward New Orleans in general is at the crux of this issue.
I hope that this BS costs you a shot at a championship, but I also hope that you never have to deal with your schedule mattering because you fall into disarray.
BTW, don't ever attempt to talk down to me again, son."
maybe if tulane could draw more fans than some AA high school games, they could complain
What a fricktard. LSU did his stupid little football team a favor by playing them.

Ask them about their little "night school program" a lot of the baseball players go to. You'll love their reaction.

Tualne will be just fine without LSU ...

The desire to harm Tulane and the unfiltered greed of the LSU leadership is beyond debate.
Why would anyone pass up a chance at a nationally televised game against an ACC opponent for Tulane?

Yet, and now back to the "fans," any action-- no matter how egregious, illegal, or unethical-- that enhances the athletic program, can be excused and even praised.
Illegal and unethical?

I originally liked the idea of playing them home and away in football but I must not have been thinking straight. We should have NOTHING to do with them in any sport or any activity.

Seriously, its a breach of their integrity, IMO. Unless of course they have none. and what bothers me is not so much their never ending penis envy with Tulane (after all what are they afraid of?), its the fact that their biggest numbnut fans in Baton Rouge have this rivalry tied into their hatred/envy of New Orleans. Which is scary for the future of Louisiana. we (Tulane and New Orleans) can be healthy rivals with LSU/Baton Rouge pushing each other to get better for the good of the State, but to these fans victory will only be achieved if Tulane and New Orleans fail to survive. Neither of which will ever happen. so, in the final analysis, I'm less upset about this than most here (I think). Personally I'm glad to be away from these foks. Let them stew in their own juice.
LOL!

Sophandros is probably a 15 year old, acne faced dweeb who puts too much value in the losing football program Tulane has.
Why is it that EVERY other school in LA thinks LSU is "threatened" by them? It doesn't add up for me.

It's not LSU's job to pay for all of Tulane's athletics. These Green Wave fans are mad because they know that they can't make any money off of any other game. The posters on the message board were talking about snatching up William & Mary (the team UNC dropped). I can't see any way that game would draw more than 20,000 people at the Superdome.
They know deep down inside that without LSU's money, their program will crumble.

They are just upset that they won't be able to hang out with the other 500 retards that show up to Tulane games anymore when Tulane dismantles the football program. Good riddance.

but then who will they overcharge on tickets to help pay for baseball?

That's light. If the contract is silent on a breach, they would pay us our economic losses. I'd estimate it's around $2.5 million. Plus, is it accurate that this ended by a "mutual agreement"? Why would we agree to letting them out of their contractual obligations? No one, especially the TUlane athletic department, should be shocked that LSU walked away.

I like this one, I say it all the time.
quote:
"It is our feeling that we just don't need the people in New Orleans anymore, so we are never coming back there, except to play for the National Championship in the Sugar Bowl sometime," said the official LSU press release. "We don't need any more high school players or alumni giving any more money from New Orleans. If they want to come to LSU, they can just drive up to Baton Rouge". "We really don't care about keeping any money in New Orleans or helping out their hotels and restaurants, that is their problem."

CASE IN POINT! I don't effing get it. LSU makes a business decision based on the money, and suddenly we are scared or have penis envy of Tulane. HARDLY.
