I bet you didn't have the same opinion about Saban and Rolando McClain after the V Tech game. McClain should have been suspended for putting his hands on a game official because he was angry with the personal foul call after McClain blindsided the VT tackle after the play had ended.
Before expressing your disgust with Urban Meyers, express your opinion about Saban and his no response to McClain actions. At least Meyers did something.

There was way worse crap happening that whole game and the refs kept jumping in between players to prevent escalation. If you think this is a big deal U ain't played ball.
I would love to see the fricking public outcry of injustice if that had been Tebow on the bottom of the pile getting eye gouged by a UGA player. You UF fans are fricking pathetic taking up for this piece of a garbage just because he wears a Gator uniform.

Interesting opinions.
Spikes didn’t gouge his eyes. There was no injury. Spikes was merely baptizing his cheeks with saliva. Kid probably thanked him. This was in retaliation for being spit on earlier which wasn’t called by the refs either. Like the guy who gets flagged for returning a shove, Spikes got punished for returning some spit. A ½ game suspension sounds about right. Note that this shows the NFL scouts Spikes plays with passion and his draft stock has risen because of it. No one condones it but that’s just the way the football world turns.
Anyway he's sitting out the whole game after reading these posts, plus he'll say three hail Mary's.
