For everyone who's giggling at "Hardball Times," the writer's name is Jeff Sackmann...
Hilarity aside, you have to give this guy credit for having Virginia as the top-ranked team in the nation the day the brackets were released. So far he was right that the Cavaliers got hosed in the seeding, and UVA has been very impressive on the field.
However, his formula doesn't do LSU any favors. His strength rating is adjusted for home-field advantage. This probably means that LSU gets less credit for playing more games at the Box but no extra credit for winning every road SEC series this season.
I'm sure we'd see alot of
if the Hardball Times had LSU as the favorite though.
