Ha ha, yes! I just went through a ton of trial and an error to come to that conclusion.

I'm glad for this thread though, because it motivated me to find a permanent fix.

Beau, you da man! I renamed the input and turned sound leveling off on my Vizio TV. Sound is great and stays on coming out of a commercial break.

Thanks!!

I've had a similar issue since installing the Chromecast. When I first launch WatchESPN the audio works on both left and right channels, but after the first commercial break I hear a very brief crackling sound and the left channel goes out. When commercials return the left channel recovers, then off again when the game resumes. I have the CC connected to my AV receiver (HDMI input), not the TV. This audio problem does not happen with WatchESPN on the computer, and a Google search reveals others having the same problem but no resolution.

This is the sequence for every game:

1. When casting begins, both channels work during game.
2. After first commercial, left channel goes off.
3. Next commercial, left channel on again.
4. #2 and 3 repeats as long as the game is on.
5. Stop the cast and start it again, go to #1.
