My condolences on your loss. It sounds like your dad was the kind of role model and companion for you that we all hope we can be to our own kids.
You're a very lucky man to have so many unique and amazing memories of time spent with him!

WOW what a time to lose your pops, I thought it was so ironic that you said your first LSU game was LSU vs ND with your dad because my last game with my pops was LSU vs ND is the sugar bowl... My father only 49 passed away only days later and he was the reason my whole family is as big as tiger fans as we are to this day!!!! Im not gonna lie either I started to tear up reading that post too man just thinking of my pops today and wishing he could be here for another great upcoming season of LSU football.... Man all I can tell you is that oer the years if you had as good of a relationship with your dad as I did, which i seems like you did, that it doesnt get any easier especially when football season rolls around but be strong and stick in there and myy thoughts and prayers are with you at this time and as always

I lost my dad a year ago next month. Many of the things you talked about I experienced with my dad as well. I miss that man and his Tigers cheers that aggravated my mom so much. :-)

My condolences DFT. I lost my Daddy seven weeks ago, and the pain is still fresh. Although my Dad was born and raised in Wisconsin, when he left to live in South Louisiana he never looked back. We was a true Tiger fan and went to many games with me and my brother.
My greatest memory is he and I going to the 07 SECCG together - just a father and his daughter sharing a Tiger victory together. My brother and I are going to spend Saturday evening with our Momma because she just can't stand the thought of watching the Tigers without Daddy.
DFT, like you I had an awesome father who I will miss every day for the rest of my life. I was blessed, and so you were you. Keep him alive in your heart. God Bless.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my dad 12 years ago and this post just made me tear up thinking about him and our shared love of the Tigers. Thank you for sharing, and your family will be in my prayers.
