If uC Santa Barbra is a 16 seed, their SOS is 83 and 40 out of conference, RPI 10, record 39-12 23-4
Looking at all metrics, and the eye test they are….. more deserving?
I just used them as a reference because of talk we travel there. They also don’t play a conference tournament. 3 game series with UC riverside.

Buddy, you don't need to be mad at me because I understand the track record of the NCAA selection committee. Be mad at their track record. They don't pick teams in order of where they rank in the RPI or strength of schedule. Those metrics are what they use to differentiate between teams who they are closely considering together in a group. Ultimately, wins and losses matter, regardless of metrics, before those things start to come into play.

Now, I will absolutely agree with you that a team like UCSB should not be hosting, because their schedule is SO weak. If you asked me to pick the most deserving teams, that would be a different conversation when it comes to comparing LSU to a team like UCSB, but they are an outlier. I still wouldn't see LSU hosting over the other teams in play.

But going strictly by what the committee tends to do, and what you are clearly seeing the prognosticators expecting the committee to do, LSU is just not in line to host. Our feelings about it don't matter, friend.

The topic of this thread is that we could have a winning sec record at the end of the week. So what do you mean overcome the 13-17 record. Do these SEC games not count?

They count as games won, but they don't undo being 13-17 in the regular season. These games aren't counted onto your SEC record. LSU was 14-16 in the league in 2010, won the tournament, but got a 2 seed. Why? Because the regular season holds more weight.
