If Miles can get back the Disipline he had in 2007 they could win 10 games!!!

I think we end up with 10 or 11 wins. Nice improvement. However, we could easily only lose one game or none this year if everyone truly plays to potential and the defensive scheme is solid. We're as talented as anybody.

Well said!

This has been a good thread- liking the expectations for the team. I am still trying to decide on my record, but I like the post about our 3 running backs and tolliver and lafell. If they play to their highest potential, which I don't think they have done yet, it should be an excellent season for the Tigers. If they do that- I think we could go 11-1, or at the worse 10-2 with very close losses on the road with a loss to UGA and a loss to UF at home. Much of this season is dependent on our defense, which has to play like it has played in previous seasons before 08.

I would be disappointed if we lost to Georgia. Yes its an away game and theyre a powerful program, but they lose Moreno and Stafford. Kind of a rebuilding year for them. And its early in the season so they would need some big improvement from the QB spot as well was others to beat us. But they always have a running game so you cant count them out.

I expect drastic improvement from our offense. Hopefully with steadier QB play we will drastically reduce the number of turnovers. JJ just needs to play like he did at the end of the season, i.e. not trying to do too much and simply getting the ball in the hands of the playmakers. The other key will be how well the new cogs in the O-Line will perform. If those 2 facets turn out well then I think we could have a REALLY high octane offense.

On defense I think we will be drastically improved against the pass not only because of experience but also because we will hopefully get back to pressuring the passer under Chavis' schemes. I think we could be a bit more suspect against the run this year after losing Beckwith and so many D-Linemen. We will have to grow up in a hurry up the middle. Call me nuts but I have a feeling Minter may take over the MLB spot by midseason solely based on what I've read about him and seen on highlight films.

So my expectations are for a high powered offense and an attacking defense that will be strong against the pass but possibly struggle a bit against the run.

Overall I see us finishing either 9-3 and out of the SEC Championship game or 10-2 and winning the West. If we lose more than 3 games then I will consider the season a disappointment barring any major injuries.

But, as always, I still believe deep down that the stars could line up just right for another run at a title.

I think the defense will be improved ALONE by less mass substitutions. I was glad to hear Les say that. I lost count of all the times defensive players were out of position last year.
