Hopefully soon.
Jimbo made his playcalling career when the fanbase was more limited and everything was on the radio and nowhere else. Given those circumstances he did very well.
He is a very good playcaller for 1980. Not for 2009. Nothing personal, it's just that standards advance all the time and most of us posting here will learn this before long. Maybe it's just me, but in 2040 I'll bet that Facebook will have been long forgotten. Jim Hawthorne, by contrast, is still around at 60 years old or so. Staying on the cutting edge for even a year or two is hard enough. Just staying around at all deserves a little respect, and staying at the top of the game for decades is a rare thing.

He was great, I started this thread to say hopefully soon he will retire. That is legit. He did good for his time, his time is over and its time to move on.
